Richardh, It certainly is one of the great runs. 2112 is probably the most important album in the band's catalog as it undoubtedly saved the band. And because it was done under their terms, it allowed them creative control going forward. Had Geddy, Alex and Neil bent to the label's demand to release a more commercial album, I don't see how we get Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato or Jacob's Ladder going forward. However, like you, outside of the first 7 minutes of 2112 and A Passage to Bangkok it is not an album I revisit much. |
