Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (Quadrophonic)

Sometimes, you just want the classics
The Wheel of Time Turns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the shadow.

Hi,

Sunset Park, though in my book it is a bit too "staged" for the solo parts, although there are some far out moments with the violin, but it is often upstaged by the guitar, which is sad ... I would have like to hear more of a duet between the violin and guitar but with the loudness discrepancy, the band ends up sound like too many others, though I admit, that I have enjoyed this in parts.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

More like power metal adj. prog metal. Progressive power metal fits them better.
Also not epic prog or epic power (which includes the likes of Manowar and whatever Rhapsody band out there, there were 4 at some point LOL).

*sigh* I think they're less progressive on this album than you make it seem, and I disagree with your narrow definition of power metal.

I did not define power metal at all, just what "epic power metal" specifically is. Epic refers to story-telling and in this case history, fantasy, mythology as lyrical themes.

I don't see how my view is narrow. Epic-power metal is just a subgenre of power metal. Having existed since the 80s, even power metal has become a bit diverse.

I've never seen "epic power metal" defined as a rigid sub genre (I guess as you said that would basically be "sounds like Rhapsody"), but in any case that's not how tags work at my website. There "epic" just means epic. Smile

How is it rigid? Confused For long time, people have called "epic" for the story-telling type of lyrics, about heroes, battles, heroic deeds, and so on.

"epic" just means epic ?! What does this even mean?!
