ALPHONSO JOHNSON     A funky jazz bassist who's best-known for being a former member of Weather Report and he very nearly became a member of Genesis too! 

AMERICAN GYPSY        A funky Los Angeles band who had much greater success in Europe than in their native homeland. American Gypsy lived up to their name by touring Europe extensively before finally settling in Amsterdam in the early 1970's. After all, whoever heard of gypsies who don't like travelling!? 

ARCHIE BELL & THE DRELLS      After the Kennedy assassination in Dallas in November 1963, it was said "nothing good ever came out of Texas", but Houston native Archie Bell retorted "We were from Texas and we were good", and who are we to argue with him when Archie Bell & the Drells debut album was written and produced by none other than legendary Philadelphia soul duo Gamble & Huff!? So Tighten Up your dancing shoes and get ready to Dance Your Troubles Away. After all, Archie Bell & the Drells are Hard Not to Like. 

ARTHUR LEE & LOVE (1945-2006)       As music Forever Changes over the decades, there's always been a whole lotta love for Arthur Lee & Love, and when you've listened to their entire discography, why not enjoy all of their albums again by going Da Capo!?

ATLAS       The hills are alive with the sound of Jazz-Funk music.... You'd need an atlas to find this brassy soul band as they're from the remote region of Lower Austria in Central Europe and they only stuck around long enough to record this one amazing album before just as suddenly disappearing into the Austrian Tyrol, never to be heard from again. 

That's my kind of album. I Love 1970's music, so being "extremely dated" is part of its appeal. 

AURRA        A funky American soul band who were an offshoot of the funk band Slave. Aurra started off well enough in the eighties, but then went downhill fast in the 21st Century when the rappers later took over and rapped all over it, after the glow had long since gone from their Aurra. 

ATLANTIC STARR         A funky soul collective from White Plains, New York, who somehow Always manage to keep going despite many changes of line-up during their turbulent career. Atlantic Starr featured  four principal lead singers during their heyday. Namely, brothers David & Wayne Lewis, Sharon Bryant, and later, Barbara Weathers. APB:- Atlantic Starr are Armed and Dangerous, at least according to their song, but don't worry, as they do it All in the Name of Love.
