I know you too well by now... I somehow knew Donald Fagen and Elvis Costello would be your two choices in this poll. I only have two albums from the poll on CD, and one of them is by Donald Fagen. Thumbs Up

I have never listened to any of these albums. But if I had to choose one to try it would probably be The Message - the only rap album I think I would ever try listening to! White Lines is such a great song😎

I guess I'll go with the Cure. I spend my weekends subtracting zero from all the numbers I find.

White Lines isn't on The Message though.

I think a few of these albums are quite patchy, but this isn't the worst representation of what 1982 had to offer. While not expectiing any of my RIO/Avant-favorites to feature in part 2 I hope Kate Bush will show up. Modern English would deserve a spot too, but that's not very likely. Expecting Iron Maiden, Dire Straits, Roxy Music and Michael Jackson to be there... and what else... Duran Duran?

A top three from me:

Madness - The Rise and Fall  (Kavus Torabi of Cardiacs' favourite album)

Akiko Yano (sort of "the Japanese Kate Bush") - who btw married to Ryuichi Sakamoto this very year - has my favorite cover art of 1982 (but unfortunately its musical content is not as great as on Tadaima, her 1981-album or her 1976-debut) and possibly of all time.
