Not all Megadeth's albums are thrash. (they're well tagged here - https://metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=163&bandname=Megadeth Also I guess there are mid-tempo rhythms in thrash, and they alternate with the fast ones. Edited by Cristi - August 29 2023 at 10:42 |

Yes, you can even take it down to the track level - it would still be correct to say that the iconic Slayer thrash tracks typically have much faster sections than Megadeth. Indeed I would say that out of the big four Slayer are the fastest by far. |

All I meant to say was there is no need to put the adjective "fast" in front of "thrash". Thrash is a metal subgenre based on fast paced rhythms/tempos. It's like saying "wet water/liquid" or "burning fire".

^ these analogies are flawed - as we’ve seen, Thrash comes in different speeds, but water does not have different degrees of wetness. But I’ll absolutely grant you that the adjective “fast” is not very useful for “thrash”. It might comfort you to know that I did not put it there deliberately.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Glad to hear it's not as challenging and demands your attention to the musical bits at least to some degree. By my third listen, I had this album down, and I was 18 yr old. I find this LP more of an artistic statement or audio movie than just 'music'. Put yourself in the frame of mind and it may click sooner!

No I don't find it too difficult to listen to (especially not now). The one I had trouble with was LTIA. I think that's probaby KC's most difficult (well after Discipline anyway).

Yes - Time and a Word
Time for the neighbors to get acquainted with Chris Squire (RIP). Also, I know a different band called Ad Astra. They are labelled prog metal on here but really more like heavy fusion. One album from 2008 is excellent stuff and severely underrrated. Edit: Ok, I see the band name is not Ad Astra. For mine it is though and I still recommend it. ;)
