Sorry to the quartet at the Penguin Cafe, it's going to Jean Michel. Oxygene is perfection.

The Great Criswell predicted right... No Cos or Picchio dal Pozzo in this. ;) Sorry, I'm terrible at banter.

Penguin Cafe Orchestra for me, I love that album and had returned to it not that long back thanks to a topic at PA. Other than that I like Oxygene an awful lot, but Penguin Cafe O is fresher in my birdbrain. I should play that Fela Kuti album.

Some of my blogs and polls may contain a lot of hot air, but Jean Michele Jarre breathes new life into this poll. Smile

1. Jean Michele Jarre
2. Stevie Wonder
3. Joan Armatrading
4. Peter Frampton

If it's any small consolation, I featured Cos recently in my Canterbury Scene blog and Picchio del Pozzo are coming up there later in the year. First of all though, I need to set the rest of August aside to listen to all of Gong's sixty odd albums again. Tongue

The more famous Genesis and Eloy are missing Ermm... not worthy enough for 1976 LOL

It makes things more interesting though, does it not, when there are no obvious prog albums in the poll. After all, look what happened in Part 1 of this poll. Tongue

Oh yeah, it can make it more interesting. I don't know much about the lists, criteria, methodology for choices....

Yeah, while I would not expect Cos and Piccio dal Pozzo, I would have been much more likely to think that Eloy (don't know how popular Dawn is) and especially Genesis might be listed as they are much better known.

I just searched for the list now (this is unofficial and based on the 2010 edition, and might/ seems to have have errors as, for instance, Oxygene is listed there as 1977): https://blacksunshinemedia.com/music/1001-albums-you-must-hear-before-you-die/

1977 is great. David Bowie's Low and Heroes", Pere Ubu's The Modern Dance, Kraftwerk, Jarre, PCO... Awesome.

I guess I'll go with JMJ's Oxygene over Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Chunk Foam Cow pauses as the "tic-tac" sends me beans without a shock wave.

I do like Oxygene but also Fela Kuti and Stevie Wonder who are still without a vote. One vote goes to Africa then.
