It has come to my attention that some prog bands promote other bands and sometimes allow them to keep name association as some kind of elusive tribute/new experience under their name.

Take for example Caravan.

Whenever i search Caravan in youtube or spotify there was always this album under their name.

I love this album. It is arty, sexy, proggy, fresh, angry, and very much Caravan (even if its not)

Not so much unlike None of Your Business.

Waiting for a reply from Caravan :D

I'm sorry, if you were right, I'd agree with you. Robin Williams.

Purely by coincidence, just before reading your post, I came across this secret heavy Blues-Rock album by Camel (but not Thee Camel) from 1969. Smile

I'd say it's more obscure than "secret" and not a Prog band, but RYM has some informations about it:

quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

Probably not prog but there was a UK band called Iron Maiden who put out one album in 1970. The much more well known Iron Maiden mentioned them on their website with a link to that other Iron Maiden.

There was also a US band from the late 70s called Asia. Apparently the other Asia (again much more well known) forced them to break up.

Don't know about these easter-eggs you speak of but there were some cool 'secret' albums back when.  Largely private releases... if you know what I mean
