Joni Mitchell or Miles Davis. The others aren't even in the same galaxy.

The only album I know from your list is Chris Rea's Blue Guitars (which I have on a 2-CD best of collection), but my all-time favorite Chis Rea album is the soundtrack to La Passione with Shirley Bassey. I wonder if Shirley owns a Ferrari.... Edited by Psychedelic Paul - July 14 2023 at 14:38 |

I voted for Joni Mitchell's Blue. I had expected to see Massive Attack's Blue Lines, but I don't know how Paul compiles these or chooses the albums (I tend to be interested in such things). I like and have Rain's Cerulean Blue, little known, but nice call (he has posted at PA). My favourite has been Zbigniew Preisner's Three Colours Blue soundtrack. I especially listened to that a lot in the 90s (I love the trilogy). Not an album or film that I would recommend to Paul.

We're Back to Black for the next round in the Dulux color chart with the following list of artists which, by the way, includes Amy Winehouse, even though I'm not a fan.
AC/DC Astra Black Black Sabbath Black Widow David Bowie The Clash Coheed and Cambra Miles Davis Dream Theater Emerson, Lake & Palmer FM Mort Garson Peter Hammill Hawkwind King Crimson Metallica Muse Prince The Rolling Stones Lalo Schifrin J.D. Souther The Stranglers Amy Winehouse XTC My apologies if your favourite "Black" album isn't listed, but I had to leave at least five albums out of the list through lack of space, including (or rather excluding):- Dave Alvin (Blackjack Dave); Cowboy Junkies (Black-Eyed Man); Dana Dawson (Black Butterfly); Waylon Jennings (Black On Black); The Three Sounds (Black Orchid); The Pointer Sisters (Black and White); and Weezer (Black Album).

Yes, there are no prog albums in the list, but that's not for the lack of looking for them, although I can promise there'll be a fair sprinkling of prog albums in the upcoming "Black list."

I have the perfect excuse for not including Weezer's debut.... I've never heard of Weezer or their debut album before, and besides, who would I leave out of the poll to make room for Weezer, bearing in mind I know and like all 25 personally selected albums in the poll.

Joni Mitchell for me
Also, you had the perfect opportunity to include Weezer's debut, which is literally referred to as "The Blue Album", and you didn't take it?

No, the inspiration was actually the Moody Blues, who aren't even in the poll.
