Keyboardist Miki Petkovski is not well known outside of Northern Macedonia and the former Yugoslavia region. He was a member of the Yugoslav bands Leb i Sol and Smak in the 1970s, and he currently resides in Canada, where he teaches music. The track "Iluminacija" from Petkovski's 1979 debut solo album "Ko Zna," which features the members of the aforementioned bands, is a little-known yet incredibly amazing piece of music. Gordana Ivandić sang the wordless vocals. |

The Nolans - Love Transformation... I remember this colorful number from the Dulux paint ad, where you'd most likely find it listed as a whiter shade of pale on the Dulux color chart.

Aphrodites Child - Inifinity (Irene Papas) oft referred to as the 'orgasm song' but actually about an exorcism

I think all of the singing on Catharsis' albums are wordless (and ca. 80% of the artists/bands I've posted got more of the "same"): Edited by Saperlipopette! - July 12 2023 at 05:45 |

With Pascale Son (in Cos) whenever is sounds like a word its still just sounds I've got tons of stuff from various Soundtracks and Library Music. But plenty of that is arguably prog anyway: Edda Dell'Orso (singing on Kill!) is the queen of wordless vocal. I've had a period where I tried to locate everything she recorded. More of a mixed choir, but awesome Edited by Saperlipopette! - July 11 2023 at 23:06 |

I always could have sworn there was a woman singing wordless vocals at the beginning of Camel's snow goose album but if that's the case then she's not credited.

^ A beautiful track from Annie's best solo album. Dare I mention Clare Torry on the Great Gig in the Sky?

OK, how about Renaissance and Annie Haslam. Well, not exactly the whole song, but I can think about mentioning the live Ashes are Burning. The way Annie sings the guitar parts at the end is just another thing.

Should I mention it? The very most obvious example? Or should we leave it unmentioned because everyone already knows it anyway? It starts with Great and ends with Sky...

Some call it "scat" singing.. Basically, wordless singing. From the 5 minute mark.. Carol of Harvest - Try a Little Bit |
