The new Rhino High Fidelity release of The Cars, cut by Kevin Gray is amazing!! I have an OG version from '78 mastered by George Marino at Sterling which sounds excellent, but this new version is brilliant. And for $40, all analog from original master tapes....sweet!

Only 5,000 were pressed..

All VG++/NM......I thought the Tubes at the store was gonna only make VG but cleaned up really well, little to no surface noise, sounds great!

To be fair, I better tell here that I now have got some informations, which may indicate that the character of the production is intended.

All the Zepp LPs sound soooo much better than any CD. Bonzo's drums are so much bigger on LP. Plus you get huge slam effect that is totally missing on the CDs. The pricey ones are stamped RL in the run out groove, as those are considered the best sounding. The RL stamped of II can be hot cut though. The reissues from 2014 are pretty good, cut from 24bit files.

^ Yea I started looking for an OG copy on Discogs and due to Stranger Things people want whacko money for a mint or nm copy. I bought this one new for $25, the inner sleeve is exact as the OG versions so nothing lost with getting a reissue.

Sounds really good, a bit noisy in spots so I'll run it thru the ultrasonic cleaner, should do the trick. Kinda forgot how great this album is, certainly worth all the accolades it received back in the day!

I have this exact version. It sounds nice. Love the record.

Glad your having a much more engaging experience with your Grado......Anytime I've gone up the food chain with carts the experience is so well worth it, you have no idea the sonic wonders that are buried deep in the grooves.
