I am planning a dual ground of the well savoured and experienced. A series of pairing the post-Brando/Dean/Monroe/Newman
generation, the names whom were the heroes of th 70s and 80s. The so i will pair Di Niro, Duvall, Nicholsen, Eastwood, M Sheen, Al Pachino, Caan, Hackmam, Hoffmann, Freeman, Streep,Close, etc Now it is whos your favored


Harrison Ford vs Robert Redford... two legends and prime actors of many roles and preformances.

Ford...but that might be due to his films in general than acting.

Probably Ford. Redford had some interesting movies in the late 60s/early 70s (Sundance Kd, Jeremiah Johnson, The Hot Rock, The Sting), but most of his films I find inifinitely boring.

One have to give Redford kreddit for being and avid indipendent film suppoeter, he have dared to go the anti-Hollywood route, on supporting and producing films that are not main stream.

"Since founding the nonprofit Sundance Institute in Park City, Utah, in 1981, Redford has been deeply involved with independent film.[4]

Through its various workshop programs and popular film festival, Sundance has provided much-needed support for independent filmmakers. In 1995, Redford signed a deal with Showtime to start a 24-hour cable television channel devoted to airing independent films. The Sundance Channel premiered on February 29, 1996."

Agreed.

In many ways, Harrison Ford has been simply a part of the machine that brings in money for the studios. At least, one can not criticize Robert Redford, for having created one of the most valuable and important showcases for Independent Film, in America, specially ... where "independent" usually means, you won't last long and will be absorbed by the machine sooner or later.

Robert Redford, for me, has more in him about film making and its value, than Harrison Ford, although I would think that this comparison is not as well intended as it was designed. I have enjoyed a lot of Harrison Ford films, as well, and though Robert's films might not be as interesting or well liked, there is something in his work that will be appreciated in time, but the fact that the time and place DEMANDS action is a problem for a film maker like Robert that prefers the details and the subtleties that make film valuable. Not to mention his love for independent film making, where ... you learn a lot more about film making than any school could possibly try to help you with ... hint ... they won't ... is why you rarely see a USC graduate present his/her film here!

I think it takes character, and I don't mean that in an acting way ... a certain depth, that I am not sure that Harrison Ford has really embraced in many of his films ... although he is very good in some, when properly directed.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Both amongst my faves, but Robert also made films... and I don't like Harrison 's involvement in SW and Indiana Jones blockbusters.

However, Witness is awesome, so are his Bladerunners and Fugitive...
and the awesome Frantic (from Polanski)

So Redford instead of Ford , but by a hair only

I love Robert Redford as Jay Gatsby, i love the novella and love both the DiCaprio version and Redford version, but i love Redfords golden mane. Hes have that aura as Peter O'Toole had in Larwence

Harrison Ford is an entertainer, Robert Redford is a man with a mission. I much prefer Mr. Redford for the morality/politics behind his film choices. Plus, before Shrinking, I never thought much of Mr. Ford as an actor despite the praise his contemporaries, peers, and younger co-stars lavish upon him.

Well, I dont consider Harrison Ford a great actor.

And his films are often commercial action-movies. (Sometimes they are great, ok - and Blade Runer is a masterpiece).

In my opinion, Robert Redford has much more depth as a actor, and has starred in important films that have gone down in the history of cinema.

So, there is no contest, Redford wins.
