Im trying to keep a look out for Asia CD job lots

Best I can come up with.... any good?

So here's a little story for ya. I was a sound engineer at the time and we had a gig way north in Ontario, Blind River coming up. I decided to stayed on the Saturday night to see the concert instead of driving up on the Saturday morning. I went to the venue in the afternoon (Alumni Hall at Western University) to see if I could get permission to take my camera into the concert. I had brought the LP inner sleeve in case an opportunity for signatures presented it self. When I got there I spoke to a guy on the tour bus who said the tour manager was inside the venue. So I wandered in an open door and sat down waiting to see if i could find him. A few minutes later in walks Geoff Downs, then Carl Palmer and John Wetton, finally in comes Steve Howe, getting ready for a sound check.  Eventually I wandered up to the stage to ask for autographs. Everyone was very friendly ...except for Steve. He seemed a little stand off'ish. So as i was talking to Carl and telling him about the band I worked with (a keyboard and drum duo) he asks me about the tuning of his drums, so I offer my advice. Just a little lower tuning on the second tom. Then when I speak to Geoff and tell him about my job he gets really excited and says, "You should come and see my Fairlight" grabs my hand and hauls me up on stage to his keyboard riser and begins to show my the gear. I'm absolutely gob smacked at this point. Later after I was back sitting in the seats Carl comes over and sits down a row ahead of me. I show him some shots from ELP and the orchestra at Cobo hall in Detroit that I took and he's very impressed. Later that night I realize the seat he was sitting in was the seat I had a ticket for.

The only downside to the whole event was the soundman pushed the PA way too hard for the venue and sound was almost deafening at times. the hall had beautiful acoustics with remote movable wall panels so volume shouldn't have been an issue. Still, it was a great concert even if I did come away with ringing ears and barely made it to my gig in time.

I haven't heard the Asia version, I do like all the comeback albums inc even Omega and saw Asia at a packed out Shepherds Bush Empire back when they played the whole debut album.
 

Black Moon hasn't aged well although I loved it when it came out. One of the big issues with it is Palmer's drumming which had already become a bit ploddy and a long way from the force of nature he was on early ELP records. The songs were good and actually the only ELP album with no out and out weak tracks barring their debut.
