Hi, This is nice, and I might even get it, depending on the price since I'm on a limited budget. My thoughts are that the last thing that MAGMA would want would be a video that was done like the majority or merde videos done for most rock music ... completely out of touch of "cinema" (if that's OK to say so!), and (in general) not even listening to the lyrics or the artist and what is being done or said. This was one of the worst moments of the 1999 SF festival, when some of the folks doing video were amateurs and idiots. In one case one of them took on Daevid Allen, and of course he went for the camera and played to it, only for the girl to walk away less than 30 seconds into it ... completely ignoring what he was doing, and saying. He didn't get mad, but he did make a gesture that said it all in a subtle sort of way, as would I, too! Almost none of the video materials in those 2 nights have ever been seen, and it is likely that they all stunk ... in one other moment, the camera was on Magdalena (Par Lindh Project) and she was in what we might consider a solo, and the camera left her alone ... just insane and completely disrespectful and in my book a signature moment of what a lot of idiots thought of "progressive" music ... and later that night, the worst happened. Steven Wilson would not allow film, or photographs of his band whatsoever, and this enraged the producer Sean Ahearn, who stated it was his show. The bits and pieces left over are not exactly the best ... there are some bits of "Bondage Fruit", and "Buckethead", but some of the other excellent shows like Lana Lane and the Rocket Scientists that put on the most professional and completely strong show of the 2 days, was not even filmed and it deserved to. "Brand X" was not filmed that I remember, mostly because it was one of the saddest moments for the band that I would recall ... and the rest of the show is just about ignored and forgotten, and it was good, despite the fact that it didn't sell as much as needed and I think that Sean Ahearn took a serious beating financially on it, and he deserved better for what he put together. "Magma" was also not filmed because the star of the show was impossible to film, and the whole band would look ridiculous if the film was on the drummer and the women ignored! It was a perfect example of the horrible MTV crap showing for so much music, and how the wrong people were at the helm of it all, and somehow, us folks that knew the music and had more respect for it, were ignored ... I even asked Sean to put me on the board with the musical director, who obviously was just another stoned idiot from the old days in nothing shows. Film, is still IGNORED by the majority of the rock bands and shows. They like to make it look like a lot of fog and explosions is what the whole show is about and the excitement of the evening! f**k the music and the artist I suppose is the idea, then!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
