So far, I've listened to 3 prog metal releases of this year. (Each only once, yet.)

Ice Age - Waves of Loss and Power

The great divide... oops IA IA Cthulh... Uh, The Great IA (Ice Age) have come up with a brand new release aeons after their previous one. Nice! I liked it on my first listen. Nothing really outstanding, mind-blowing whatsoever, but still a solid work and enjoyable ride. 7/10

Redemption - I Am the Storm

Cool! Exciting stuff. Kept me interested throughout the flow. 8/10

Lunar - The Illusionist

This is a bit outside of my regular prog metal meals, yet deliciously listenable stuff. Great sound, impressive instrumentation, good vocals, and interesting, if not totally coherent, songwriting. 8.5/10

I knew about the Redemption album but the other two are new to me. Thanks for bringing them forward.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

The Enigma Division - self-titled debut (progressive metal band from Ireland)

66crusher (progressive metal from Norway)

Klone - Meanwhile

Hollow Hour - Till the Grey Skies Are Gone

The new albums from Riverside, Ice Age, Haken and Redemption are also really good. Tongue

I think Klone might be supporting Devin Townsend when I see him on Wednesday 👍

I haven't quite listened to a lot of prog metal albums in 2023, but I really liked Haken's Fauna. Didn't quite enjoy ID.ENTITY by Riverside though. My favorite album so far this year is actually a metal album, though not a prog metal one. It is a metalcore album called A New Tomorrow by Zulu. It is a very awesome album I think y'all should check out, I consider it one of the best metalcore records to release this decade, next to Colors II by Between The Buried And Me.

The latest Periphery album is very good from what I've heard of it but I'm still sorting/getting through a lot of new music at the moment
