Just listens to a Seals & Croft album Diamond Girl, really like the sound of that, very beutifull and sophisticated, and the vocalist sounds like Cat Stevens.
The Doobie Brothers have also a cool funky sound Both bands are probably off the radar on a prog site. But should not be neglected even if known as soft rock. They are good listening bands, with solid arrangments and songwriting. And a studie about good melodic song writing. |

I don't know any of them well enough to vote, but i've enjoyed some of what I've heard by both. My impression is that Doobie Brothers are the most musically sophisticated, while Seals & Crofts (which is their correct name) have stronger - or more memorable melodies.

I will go with the group from my hometown of San Jose - the Doobie Brothers.

I have to agree, the Doobies have far more history, discography and musicians going on. Their initial, pre-Michael McDonald run wins the contest by itself. Seals & Croft first and second albums, with their more hippy gutsy vibe, give them a better chance than Diamond Girl or Summer Breeze, IMO. I think I'm going to compare both versions of Cottonmouth to gain a better perspective before voting. |

Not even vaguely comparable. For their entire catalog, the Doobies (at least prior to Michael McDonald). S&C had some nice individual singles but overall a bit too sappy for my tastes.

The choice is Clear as the Driven Snow. I prefer to Listen to the Music of the Doobie Brothers.
