People's favourite prog albums of the past year have been discussed in abundance and great recommendations have been shared; now it's time to extend that same privilege to albums from all genres of the musical spectrum! List your top 10 favourite albums of 2022 from artists that aren't included in the Progarchives database. I'll start with mine: 1. Sevish - Morphable (microtonal drum & bass/IDM) 2. Devilish Dear - Army Of Nothing (shoegaze) 3. Dave Gisler Trio with Jaimie Branch & David Murray - See You Out There (avant-garde jazz/jazz fusion) 4. Matt Stober - Guitar & Ambient Works, Vol. 3 (ambient/American primitivism) 5. Kazutoshi Sohta - Flumina (jazz fusion) 6. Static Noise Bird - All Edges Of A Garden Folding Inwards (psybient/downtempo) 7. Om - 50 (avant-garde jazz) 8. Akira Sakata, Tatsuya Yoshida, Kenji Sato, Natsuki Kido & Risa Takeda - MN Session 2022 March (free jazz) 9. DOMi & JD Beck - Not Tight (nu jazz/jazz fusion) 10. Sonhos Tomam Conta - Maladaptive Daydreaming (shoegaze)

This is in no particular order, and some of it crosses over into Prog and Prog Related avenues to my ears (and is as Prog and progressive as albums in PA) but I'll count this as "not in PA".

I prefer Blood Bitch. Sorry, no bandcamp album with music page for Classic Objects that I saw. Edited by Logan - February 24 2023 at 16:24 |

Interesting! I didn't know Scorpions still do list-worthy music. Their music was never really my cup of tea, but I have a lot of respect for them. Also located some 150 km from where I come from, they still have some kind of local hero status (and I once met their ex-drummer Herman Rarebell on a train and we talked for more than an hour; they're apparently also good friends with Frank Bornemann/Eloy).

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |
