Is now diagnosed with dementia, after for a year or more have coped with aphasie. An actor with a wide range, though often seen as a tough guy, he also portrtraied exxentrics, comedy, drama and suspence, even artsy movies came underches curriculum vitae. What is your favoured memory of Bruce on the TV screen/moovis. |

Very sad news indeed. Not just an actor, but a musician as well. Farourite memory...I guess 1988's Die Hard. I wasn't a Moonlighting fan although I knew he was in it. Every piece of his performance in Die Hard was perfect. And of course both The 6th Sense and The Kid are memorable movies, but not on the level of Die Hard.

It is sad. Bruce Willis is so affable and charismatic. I've liked him in everything even if the movies weren't favourites. For starring roles, the sci-fi 12 Monkeys stands out, aa well as Looper and the Fifth Element. I liked his role vin Pulp Fiction. Liked Sin City.. My favourite Willis moment though comes near the end of Robert Altman's The Player (a has been very much loved by me film).
I post this mostly for those who might want to return to the film, as this works much better when you see the whole film. I can enjoy a Hollywood happy ending. Edited by Logan - February 16 2023 at 20:48 |

I always loved it when he was on Letterman, he was hilariously funny and had great chemistry with Dave. Edited by Atavachron - February 16 2023 at 20:44 |

Sad to hear this. I've always liked him. He was extremely popular in Turkey due to his role in the TV show entitled Moonlighting. No need to mention his actorship in many films.

I don't remember if he ever guested on Inside Actors Studio? I have checked, and he was, i remember seeing it. I liked those interviews, its a great thing to see the legecy of actors layed out by the keen research ability of late James Lipton.

Reading the posts reminded me just how many great films he's done. I was never a Die hard fan but I love Sin City and The Sixth Sense. Those are right up there. 12 Monkeys and Looper are also classic films in the sci-fi genre. Best wishes to him and his family. Dementia is a cruel illness that gradually robs you of everything.

Hi, I wish that both BRAVO and The Actor's Studio, would release many of these in a DVD ... there were many I saw, and some were totally outstanding and amazing. Anthony Quinn - Very neat and nice, and he was humble and fun Robin Williams - A total cracker of a show Sharon Stone - Excellent talk, and she made a very serious point towards the end to a student about "acting". I don't think that most of us even have the guts to consider it! Meryl Streep - A very fun watch, and she almost came off as a ditzy blonde ... after seeing her so serious so many times, this made it all a lot of fun! Jeanne Moreau - Very nice and a bit different. She didn't entertain theater/film, as entertainment. It was serious business for her. Dustin Hoffman - Nice, but I'm not sure he even knows what "acting" is ... he kinda lives through things so much. I felt that he wasn't sure how to reply to some questions. Shirley MacLaine - Not sure she sounded, or looked good as an actress to me. I felt slightly detached from it, for some reason. Would have loved to have seen: Paul Newman Arthur Miller Neil Simon Michael Caine Alan Alda Harrison Ford Francis Ford Coppola Kevin Costner Ben Kingsley Vanessa Redgrave Juliette Binoche Ian McKellen Morgan Freeman Jane Fonda BTW, Bruce, please enjoy your retirement. You can always have fun ripping out some bushes in the yard, but what the heck ... have some fun, and know we appreciated you.

Always very much liked this actor, starting from the Moonlighting TV series. He even made mediocre films enjoyable! Recently rewatched The 5th Element; he shines in this film.

Frankly I wish it were Alec Baldwin who was retiring from movies.

Looks like he and the "weapon specialist" will get a bit under a two year sentence. Baldwin will probably get it down to a few months + comm. service. |
