That Q Up thingamabob looks like just what I need! A nice discovery, that.
Btw, I don’t post much but on the rare occasion I try to link to a photo I’ve uploaded to Imgur, I can’t get it to work now. I usually put the url in between [i m g] url [/i m g] (without the spaces) which used to work. Any advice? Edited by HolyMoly - February 15 2023 at 16:50 |

I use Imgur....Click on the pic in your collection and use the BBCode link......I paste that. Easier than using the PA method, which has always been a PITA.

Only one not showing on LP is the last one Bondage Fruit, all the others show a LP release on Discogs. Some of the prices you might not like, but I highly doubt any of them would be reissued....They are available to own.

Here's something that gives me a laugh... This release's link (Embryo - We Keep on) shows as being a reissue and in the 5 for sale, the last one is a CD priced at $100 US. And I get that it might be a low run release making it rarer and therefore more 'valuable', but I'm betting with a little time and effort I could get a digital copy for free somewhere on the net. So what's the value now? In my LP/CD/Cassette list I value my CD's at between $5 and $10 for a single and maybe $25 for a double. No title I have strikes me as being particularly 'valuable'. The only real inherent value is convenience.

Yea not everything within Discogs makes sense, the values are set by what is sold. And the sellers can ask what they want without regard to sales history. When I buy from Discogs sellers I always make an offer, normally the seller will agree.

That's a matter of ideology and market prices to pay when one wants to have particular releases.

I like your "value" approach, JD, but I don't understand the point of it. As I see it, you might as well not write anything.

What I'm saying is, it took me less than 15 minutes to find the whole Embryo catalogue (320 mp3) online for a free download. How can a CD of just one of those titles command $100? Vinyl, on the other hand, can't be downloaded so it has an inherently higher value as it's condition and availability become driving factors. And I'll NEVER stop writing. |

Surely agree that not so few prices on Discogs are totally crazy, and I really don't understand their point, as they can be twice as much as the average price for the available items. Further, and worse, many prices seem to me today aim at profit which can't be said to be fair. And not because your writing bother me, on the contrary.
