The authorised biography of Geoff Mann photo The Authorised Biography of Geoff Mann written by Andrew Wild. Limited-Edition Hardback Book.   To commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the passing of our dear friend, Geoff Mann, this February, his official biography will be published later this year by SonicBond. Often irreverent, never compromising, Geoff Mann was many things: artist, musician, poet, playwright, vicar, husband, father, friend. Geoff packed more into his thirty-six years than most do in three-score and ten, releasing fifteen albums, performing hundreds of concerts, exhibiting his art at ten galleries, caring for his family and church members. This official biography - written with the full support and blessing of the Mann family - takes a fresh and detailed look at Geoff's life, from his childhood in Manchester through student years in Reading, his three years as a professional artist, the two tumultuous years with Twelfth Night, his solo work, The Bond, Eh! Geoff Mann Band and collaborations with Marc Catley and Clive Nolan.   His Love will be a limited-edition 160-page hardback book with sixteen pages of photographs, mostly unseen outside friends' scrapbooks and family photograph albums. In addition everyone who places a pre-order will also receive a new 'Best of Geoff' CD, which will include our favourite tracks from his post-Twelfth Night albums, a couple of TN rarities, and some recently discovered solo demos which have never been heard publicly before. This is a very special book, which we feel sure will appeal not just to all Twelfth Night fans, but also more widely as it charts the life of a truly remarkable man.

Why oh why does life seem so much better in the movies. It’s actually really very dull and boring whenever you really think. About it. The constant motivation to get up and at it. Without the constant desire just to do absolutely nothing at all. Yes it is true that, I’m having trouble getting motivated today myself no great mystery behind it. I’m seriously lacking motivation to go-go despite needing to do all the work that requires me to do it. And no amount of coffee is going to help me out either way lol. Motivation simple lol. Ok let’s see what happens next LOL]

The Renaissance (UK: /rɪˈneɪsəns/ rin-AY-sənss, US: /ˈrɛnəsɑːns/ (listen) REN-ə-sahnss)[1][a] is a period in European history marking the transition from the Middle Ages to modernity and covering the 15th and 16th centuries, characterized by an effort to revive and surpass ideas and achievements of classical antiquity. It occurred after the Crisis of the Late Middle Ages and was associated with great social change. In addition to the standard periodization, proponents of a "long Renaissance" may put its beginning in the 14th century and its end in the 17th century. The traditional view focuses more on the early modern aspects of the Renaissance and argues that it was a break from the past, but many historians today focus more on its medieval aspects and argue that it was an extension of the Middle Ages.[4][5] However, the beginnings of the period – the early Renaissance of the 15th century and the Italian Proto-Renaissance from around 1250 or 1300 – overlap considerably with the Late Middle Ages, conventionally dated to c. 1250–1500, and the Middle Ages themselves were a long period filled with gradual changes, like the modern age; and as a transitional period between both, the Renaissance has close similarities to both, especially the late and early sub-periods of either. The intellectual basis of the Renaissance was its version of humanism, derived from the concept of Roman humanitas and the rediscovery of classical Greek philosophy, such as that of Protagoras, who said that "man is the measure of all things". This new thinking became manifest in art, architecture, politics, science and literature. Early examples were the development of perspective in oil painting and the revived knowledge of how to make concrete. Although the invention of metal movable type sped the dissemination of ideas from the later 15th century, the changes of the Renaissance were not uniform across Europe: the first traces appear in Italy as early as the late 13th century, in particular with the writings of Dante and the paintings of Giotto. As a cultural movement, the Renaissance encompassed innovative flowering of Latin and vernacular literatures, beginning with the 14th-century resurgence of learning based on classical sources, which contemporaries credited to Petrarch; the development of linear perspective and other techniques of rendering a more natural reality in painting; and gradual but widespread educational reform. In politics, the Renaissance contributed to the development of the customs and conventions of diplomacy, and in science to an increased reliance on observation and inductive reasoning. Although the Renaissance saw revolutions in many intellectual and social scientific pursuits, as well as the introduction of modern banking and the field of accounting,[6] it is perhaps best known for its artistic developments and the contributions of such polymaths as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, who inspired the term "Renaissance man".[7][8] The Renaissance began in the Republic of Florence, one of the many states of Italy.[9] Various theories have been proposed to account for its origins and characteristics, focusing on a variety of factors including the social and civic peculiarities of Florence at the time: its political structure, the patronage of its dominant family, the Medici,[10][11] and the migration of Greek scholars and their texts to Italy following the Fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks.[12][13][14] Other major centers were northern Italian city-states such as Venice, Genoa, Milan, Bologna, Rome during the Renaissance Papacy and Naples. From Italy, the Renaissance spread throughout Europe in Flanders, France, Britain, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Hungary (with Beatrice of Naples) and elsewhere. The Renaissance has a long and complex historiography, and, in line with general scepticism of discrete periodizations, there has been much debate among historians reacting to the 19th-century glorification of the "Renaissance" and individual cultural heroes as "Renaissance men", questioning the usefulness of Renaissance as a term and as a historical delineation.[15] Some observers have called into question whether the Renaissance was a cultural "advance" from the Middle Ages, instead seeing it as a period of pessimism and nostalgia for classical antiquity,[16] while social and economic historians, especially of the longue durée, have instead focused on the continuity between the two eras,[17] which are linked, as Panofsky observed, "by a thousand ties".[18] The term rinascita ('rebirth') first appeared in Giorgio Vasari's Lives of the Artists (c. 1550), anglicized as the Renaissance in the 1830s.[19] The word has also been extended to other historical and cultural movements, such as the Carolingian Renaissance (8th and 9th centuries), Ottonian Renaissance (10th and 11th century), and the Renaissance of the 12th century.[20]

Jali and John - Kora Duet:
This is a kora duet album by master kora player Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh and his student from Manchester, John Haycock.
released May 19, 2015 Koras - John Haycock and Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh Piano track 10 - John Ellis   Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by John Ellis at Limefield studios.   Artwork by Jordan O'Brien.
In a Bloopy Mood by John Haycock:
John's debut solo EP, released on Limefield Records.   This EP is a result of John studying kora (21 string West African harp) for 10 years with Gambian griot, Jali Nyonkoling kuyateh including spending time studying and traveling in The Gambia. More recently John began experimenting with modern compositional techniques such as looping, sampling and signal processing using hardware electronics, also incorporating clarinet, the instrument from his childhood. John has put together and impressive and unique live set, taking his kora and running it through electronic devices creating lush soundscapes and making solid beats with drum machines and samplers, overlaying it with woodwind instruments, bridging the gap between ancient West African folk melodies and modern electronica.   John was one of the recipients of the most recent round of the Steve Reid innovation award, who have part funded this project and provided mentorship for John. Emanative (Nick Woodmansey) and Sarathy Korwar from the Steve Reid Foundation have both contributed, Emanative (A trustee of the charity) with production and mixing and Sarathy (a previous awardee) with tabla. Both have provided advice and guidance to John.

Matthew Halsall Manchester, UK.
A trumpeter whose unflashy, soulful playing radiates a thoughtful beauty, Halsall, has created his own rich sound world. A sound that draws on the heritage of British jazz, spiritual jazz, world music and electronica influences, and even modern art and architecture, to create something uniquely his own. A music that is rooted in Northern England but draws on global inspirations.

Bing Satellites Manchester, UK:
Bing Satellites is a prolific ambient shoegaze musician, producer and filmmaker from Manchester, UK. I also make music under the guises The Lovely Moon, The Ambient Visitor, Kowalski Room, Theta Wave Orchestra, Ethereal Ephemera, Blocker and maybe more... Currently, I play keyboards in Daniel Land's live band.
The True Joy is in the Mystery:
A little Christmas surprise! Warm atmospheric ambient music to soothe your soul.   I've been working on this piece of music over the last few days. It changed a lot over those days. It starts off in quiet lo-fi ambient territory and becomes more grand and warm, like the sun rising over a frozen winter lake. The music feels quite festive to me so I decided to share it now.   Thank you for listening and supporting my music over the last year. I hope this festive season and the year ahead bring you warmth and happiness.    A note about the new CD version (released 17 January 2023): The original version was produced very quickly and released on a whim over the festive period. Some interest was shown in the album being released on CD, so when I had a chance, I put together a slightly longer version which extends the second half of the piece. I didn't want to release the same thing twice.   My next album, Tales from Infinity, will be released on CD and download soon. The next edition of The Ambient Archives will be available to subscribers in a day or two. More information and to subscriber visit
released December 25, 2022   All music written, performed and produced by Brin Coleman at MCos, Manchester, December 2022.   Cover design and photography by Brin Coleman. Cover photograph: The frozen shore of Hollingworth Lake, December 2022. Alternative cover photograph: Christmas lights, December 2021.    For those who want to know, this music was created using Ableton Live and Reason, along with Blofeld Waldorf, Novation KS and Roland SH-32 synths and my trusty ancient Stratocaster played with an ebow.

I know I’ve mentioned this duo before but. They’re imho well worth checking out.
Audrey's Dance:
Audrey's Dance are a two piece sad-pop band from Preston, Lancashire who formed in November 2017.   They have played with The Blinders, Working Men's Club, LIINES, Witch Fever, Red Rum Club and supported King No-One, Thomas Truax, The Blackheart Orchestra, Amy Studt, Twisted Wheel and Oya Paya and secured a highly prized opening slot at Confessional Festival in 2019.    Their second EP, Fag Ash Lil, is released on 8th January 2021 across all streaming platforms featuring brand new tracks, Internet Queen, Don’t Dream of Me and Fag Ash Lil. The EP was recorded during the pandemic between lockdowns and is highly anticipated following the success of their debut EP, Library Dreams. ‘Gold Mind and Catching Crystals are magically intense, aided by the audience's respectful listening silence that allows them to captivate us.' Even The Stars 'Impassioned, soulful tones backed by rich mellow piano, sounding almost as if Sinead O’Connor was singing to accompaniment from Kate Bush.’

White Moth Black Butterfly:
White Moth Black Butterfly are a contemporary pop project with progressive and experimental music at its heart; initially created by Daniel Tompkins as a creative outlet aside from his writing with TesseracT to indulge in his other musical influences ranging from Massive Attack, Enigma, Sigur Ros, David Bowie to Tool.
The Cost of Dreaming: mAfter their lauded 2017 album ‘Atone‘, White Moth Black Butterfly return with their new studio album ‘The Cost Of Dreaming‘. Created by Daniel Tompkins, the collaborative project features a team of songwriters & producers based worldwide, all at the height of their own scenes. Collaborating with Tompkins are New-Delhi based Skyharbor songwriter and producer Keshav Dhar; US based producer and string arranger Randy Slaugh, drummer Mac Christensen and the line up is completed by ethereal vocals of UK singer & lyricist Jordan Turner. Daniel Tompkins explains why he sees White Moth Black Butterfly and ‘The Cost Of Dreaming‘ representing the dichotomy between peace and conflict within a life full of chaos. “Our new album ‘The Cost of Dreaming’ is something we feel just about every human being on the planet that’s been affected by life changing disruption will relate strongly to. Our nature is to always be planning, dreaming about an ideal future in which we will have ticked various boxes that define our ideal lives, often at the cost of the present. And when control over that future is seized away from us and all we are left with is the present, we realise just how much we took for granted. Life is surely a gift to us all throughout which we experience moments of soaring bliss and happiness, and then in a heartbeat sink into states of great trouble and suffering. Often our struggles can serve as momentous opportunities for growth, but the balance of life can often hold us back from seizing the day. We believe that this album is our greatest achievement – it’s an outpouring of love and a cry for help.

Well I’m in an area of complex but. Completely in focus with my own peace of mind. Even though it’s Monday morning and. I’ve already had four cups of coffee and researching and listening to some. New and old musicians on. Bandcamp and Spotify which most likely is the main source of my state of mind lol. And it’s been a huge spectrum of different musical styles, whether it’s progressive music or not it’s a combination between the music and me. Which is as it should be. The concept of mindfulness and awareness of the music itself has become aspirational in many avenues for my own personal mental health state of being so. The two themes are both as one…
