Hello, I tried uploading some music videos for Scardust, but I go an error ("Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800a00006"). It might be my privacy-oriented browser that's blocking certain scripts, or it could be a site issue. idk which.

^ It's a well documented bug which affects many users of the site, and there is little likelihood of a fix anytime soon. The majority of members who registered before the turn of the last decade (circa 2010/2011) seem to be unaffected by it, but if you registered later than that then you probably won't ever be able to use that particular feature of the site. However, if you post the links to the videos you have been trying to add in this thread here, and a link to the band's page on PA, then one of our longer serving members will probably be able to do the job for you.

^What an apropos topic, as I just received a similar error while trying to Update Album Art in the Admin portion of the website. Despite being a Special Collaborator, I have no way to access this section, so could I humbly request a fellow admin to take a look at the entry for the Attention! Scott Walker! compilation that was recently uploaded? The cover art failed to load and I can't replace it with my own alternative.

I did not know about that. I suppose I'm in the latter group (registered in 2013) because every time I try to upload a video, I get an error message. Ouch

Anyway, we could discuss it more in this thread if you want.

^ I can't add videos either, and I registered in June 2011. Someone I knew in those days who joined about 17 months earlier in January 2010, but is no longer here, was able to do so however. I've just happened to notice that every post I've seen reporting this particular error has been from people who registered in 2011 or later, and those members who have helped them out and added the video for them have all registered in 2010 or earlier, so I suspect that the issue is something to do with the number assigned to your profile. I have a feeling (not confirmed at all, but based on what I have just said) that there is a certain maximum number that the 'Search and add more videos' feature can cope with. This theory could possibly be confirmed if there are some spare user ID numbers (member_profile.asp?PF=) available below somewhere around the 27500 mark that admins could reassign your account to. I'm pretty sure that if this could be done somehow, you would suddenly find that you could add videos!

Better still, get M@X to check this theory out, and finally do something about fixing the issue!

The albums "In the Court of the Crimson King", "In the Wake of Poseidon", and "Lizard" all contain information about the bonus tracks contained on the "40th Anniversary Series" releases of their albums. Since these bonus tracks are found on both single CD releases and most streaming services, I believe it would be the most appropriate to mention them on their studio album pages.

Please let me know your thoughts. Smile

SAN PEDRO'S VISION was added to the data base a few days ago.

I'm trying to add their discography but get this error message:

ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/Progressive_rock_discography_includes/functions_utils.asp, line 599

What's the remedy?

E&O Team: Looks like some PA or your internet connection glitch. Now I see you've added the same album 3 times.

Possible ways of solution:

- reuse 2 excessive pages for other albums (if you're experienced enough);

- ask admins to delete 2 excessive entries and add other albums as usual.

I can't agree.
All mentioned album pages (i.e. In the Court of the Crimson KingIn the Wake of Poseidon and Lizard) say (at least now) nothing about the "40th Anniversary Series".
To use your initial posts for updating pages, I have to check corresponding releases on Discogs and make some corrections. I.e. revisit some part of your work.

But that's not the point. There is no universal rule on PA, but in my opinion releases like these CD+DVD editions with multichannel mixes deserve to have separate entries.
Reviews may be different as well. For example, if one reviews the "original" "Lizard" album, he (she) concentrates on the album itself (its music, lyrics etc), while in reviews of CD+DVD edition I'd rather expect to read also about the quality of multichannel (Hi-Res and other) mixes - do they add some extra dimension to the music or not.

I fully understand your decision.

However, I would like to point out if you look at the bonus tracks on "Lizard" they refer to the "40th Anniversary Series" in the headline for the bonus tracks. In addition, the bonus tracks found on "In the Court of the Crimson King" are from a remixed double LP / 2nd disc release. Possibly these albums can be edited to reflect your view?

^ It would be much easier to have the text with suggested changes (for the "original albums" pages), otherwise to sort things out, I have to check numerous versions.

Updated track listing, and releases information for "Wondering / Meurglys III" by Van Der Graaf Generator. However, due to "Wondering" being the only song on both releases of this single (and being the focus of the single), I believe the title should be changed to just "Wondering".

7" Charisma - CB 297 (UK, 1976) :
A. Wondering
B. Part One (Approx:0.35%) Of Meurglys III, The Songwriters Guild

7" Charisma - PRO 002 (UK, Promo, 1976) :
A. Wondering (Song)
B. Wondering (Heroics)

Line-up:
- Peter Hammill / vocals, guitar, piano
- Hugh Banton / organs, bass pedals, Mellotron
- David Jackson / alto, tenor & soprano saxes, flute
- Guy Evans / drums, cymbal, percussion

Releases Information:

Writers: Peter Hammill (Wondering, Meurglys III), Hugh Banton (Wondering)
Engineer: Pat Moran
Producer: Van Der Graaff Generator

Taken from the album "World Record"

7" Charisma - CB 297 (UK, 1976)
7" Charisma - PRO 002 (UK, Promo, 1976)
