ProJect Xtension 10 Evolution - 22 kg total turntable mass.

At the risk of continually repeating myself...Holy F#@k !
And don't even get me started on the price.
Although, if I had that kind of disposable income I can think of a few Nikons I might like to buy.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

Which means you certainly don't spare money when buying cartridge, and my experience tells me too that it's very good to do so, as the catridge quality means very much for the overall sound quality of the whole system, while what one spends on the catridge is still a small part of the price for the whole system.

I save money.....I get money from coaching HS lacrosse and camps during the summer. To buy the table, which again I paid nowhere near MSRP, I saved two summer's worth of coaching stipend. I never use credit to fund my hobby. My audio gear does not come out of our yearly house budget....

Music listening is my passion, my hobby and I am one who knows that music played on a well put together system can sound stunning, the immersion is something you have to experience.
Whether one can afford it or not, go to an audio show or to a local hifi store and listen to a well put together system and you'll understand. Until then its really tough to explain it.....

Lyra cost is all upfront....They have an excellent trade in program that will drop the MSRP by almost 35% if you buy the same model. I can trade up to a higher end model but that then becomes spendy, the Delos suits me just fine, performs well above price point.

Hercules has a fantastic analog rig as well with a Lyra Lydian cartridge, an older model but still was a pretty penny back then.

Oh I understand it just fine having done just that at a high end shop in my home town. That was just my jealously rant. Thumbs Up

There's also the question whether the arm and the table can make the catridge to perfom its optimum, and the whole system is able to reproduce this optimum.

Well yes, you have to understand compliance of cart and tonearm. You have to know the total effective mass of the arm, then add up the weight of cartridge and all mounting hardware like screws, use that determine the resonant frequency which should be around 10Hz, accepted range is 8-12Hz so you don't have any problems with compatibility.

Here is my power amp.....and again, I did not pay MSRP. Part of the audio game is watching for specials or deals. Mine was a demo, which means it was used for a photo shoot so a discount was deducted from the price, call it an open box sale if you like. There were no hours on it.......

And here's the more exotic choice I made 24 years ago, and which I've been very pleased with:

I'd say tubes and vinyl is not a bad mix. Tongue

Yea that's good synergy......I'm not a tube gear user, I prefer solid state. I do have a DAC that has tube output stage, sounds pretty good. Only decodes up to 24bit, which is more than enough. It's a Grant Fidelity Tube-DAC 11
