Just got back from NYC and went to Generation Records. What a good selection they have! Highly recommended for those that visit NYC.

I forget the name now but a record store in London ON. had both.
Funny story, she called them and asked to have them put on hold but the guy said they didn't have the SFF. My niece said 'No, you do, 'cause this guy (me) knows his stuff and if he says you have it you have it." He puts her on hold and goes to check...Jackpot !

The ELP - Pics at an Ex is flawless, not a hint of surface noise, truly a pleasure to hear. I may start seeking out other MFSL pressings now.

**NOTE - Just searched my e-mails, looks like they were at Speed Records on Springbank Dr.

Too far away for me to drive there and check it out LOL. Not sure of the MFSL~ELP stuff. Considering all the brew-haha over MOFI going digital, the all analog MoFi's are going up in value. I don't have any of the newer digital releases, I do have several Santana and a couple Foreigner MoFi, these are all analog before 2010.

New table is setup and playing amazingly, so much more details and clarity to my records....no work today, playing records all day long!!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Too far for me as well, that's why it's nice to have family in town.
This is a 1980 release so pre digital.

Currently I'm in desperate need of a new pre-amp, mine has started exhibiting a lot of noise in the last few months. I plan on pulling apart the whole stereo system to check cables and device placement to see if I can rectify it at all. In the new year I'll be saving up for a new amp that hopefully has multiple HDMI inputs as well as an internal pre-amp.

Do you use a HT type receiver, is that why you need HDMI connections?

Pioneer VSX-817

Yeah, I got it in the early 2000's when I was finally able to set up my sub and had a big screen TV with HDMI.
I think I got it for around $300 at the time. It served its purpose but has out lived its usefulness.

Sony and Denon make some nice HT receivers, I don't know the cost of these units...

Well, since this will be the last purchase of these types of things given my age, I'll be doing my research before I drop the big bucks. I'll probably try and keep it under $1000

Sadly, that's almost exactly (although lower) than I just spent on my garage facelift. It hadn't been touched since early 1960 and was in serious need of work. It is, as you say, only money.

The final two, from the Mrs.
She had a list of the names of LP's i was looking for, signed up to Discogs, researched the LP's and brought them home. I haven't heard the Genesis yet but the ABWH is, once again, flawless ! BTW, the Genesis is the 1972 US Non-Gatefold, pink scroll label version and after it's bath looks beautiful. Can't wait to hear it.

Nice gifts! Never had a US version of Cryme, only have a Charisma UK mad hatter label reissue from around '75.

^Very nice, I really need to increase my jazz section.
I played the Genesis last night and it is so clean, incredible for 50 year old piece of vinyl. My original one was, I believe, a 1980 Canadian gatefold release. I think I may look for Santana's Festival LP next. One of the only ones I'm missing.

Cannot beat the BlueNote releases of the past couple years. They are all fantastic and very affordable, the Classic Series are under $30 and the Tone Poet series are about $40, in US$. The TonePoets have more bling like gatefolds and excellent pics inside. The Classic Series is non gate and is more like the original releases, although with no printed inner sleeves, the front and back are identical.
They are all from original master tapes, remastered by Kevin Gray. I probably have 30-32 of them so far...

Picked these two up the other day.........

Prince~Around the World In A Day
...For me, Prince is one of two musical geniuses, Peter Gabriel is my other.

I bought this in 1983 on cassette, just thought the cover was cool and had no clue who they were. The cassette packaging did not have the band pic but I could tell it was rock music. A great album, never owned on vinyl till this week.
