After getting fascinated by Turf Ascension, the last album by Bubblemath, I was wondering: are there other bands that showcase a similar approach to songwriting?
Here are some of the things that came to my mind, please, share your recommendations: Mike Keneally: Inner Ear Brigade: The Planet You: Edited by edefakiel - July 31 2022 at 05:40 |

This may fit the criteria. Agreed the new Bubblemath is superb.

Thanks, I didn't know them. I will take a listen. Edit: Oh, I see that he is a member of Wyxz. I almost added this to the original list:
I already knew them. They are very good! Thanks for the recommendation. ------------------------------------------------------- If anyone is in the mood for a little bit of microtonalism, the last album by The Mercury Tree is excellent: Edited by edefakiel - July 31 2022 at 09:07 |

I'm still trying to decide whether they are adult and sophisticated or teenage and edgy. ![]() I have been more confused with every new album.
Covet is new for me. What of the two albums do you recommend?

It was the mathy quality of the music that is why I posted it here. |

I don’t know if it ticks all the boxes of the title. I don’t even know how to tell a couple of them, but Shamblemaths could perhaps be of interest.

They are great musicians. And it is a really good recommendation. I was infatuated with Cavalcade when it was released. But, I don't know why, my interest has waned quite a bit. I don't know exactly why. Thanks for taking the time to write a reply!
I love Shamblemaths. That guy is an extraordinary musician. But I'm not sure about how well it fits with the rest. I meditated about including this album or not on my initial post, and I decided that I would reserve it for a thread about walking through the woods, dark, classically influenced prog, with Hinterland by Wobbler, A Drop of Light by All Traps on Earth, Viljans Öga by Änglagård and maybe a couple more.

Without question. We are living in a golden age, there is so much excellent music out there. This is not particularly urban, but I also love it.

I'm really digging this:
'POLARCHORAL combines some deeply grounded, sophisticated art rock and prog-pop songs with a twist of expansive and experimental polyrhythms and arrangements to make a unique and expressive statement'. Lately, I have also been listening to this: Spectacular music.
