@ Christian
Aquaserge are pretty good live. They are fresh and energetic and thus rocked the audience! As for my other choices, I have already introduced a couple of less know artists here whose concerts I have attended this year. I have one or two more in store, but I think that they are not quite what you guys are after. lol
I find Matmos quite amazing! Thanks for introducing them. Their first piece is quite accessible although they are very experimental. This rhythm is really infectious and makes me wanna dance! - I struggle a bit with the Neubauten piece, though. The lyrics save the whole thing for me to some extent. But since the sound quality of the live is not the best (or is it rather Blixa's a bit unclear pronunciation?) I listened to the studio version as well. Either way, I think that a lyrics translation would be helpful for people who don't understand German. - I found this, but I think it is a google machine translation. here Edited by Mila-13 - September 18 2022 at 03:42 |

I'm compensating for the lack of concerts in the last two years, I'll probably reach 50 concerts this year. Since we're proving our attendance, my first maskless concert was recorded for a music video and I appear somewhere in the audience. It felt insanely good to be able to rock out again ![]() Probably my favourite album this year and the best concert of the Psych Rock festival I went to (for which I had my ticket since 2020). It was really cool to see traditional percussion and bagpipes after so many bands with just guitar/bass/drums I wish I had made this track, a much better krautfolk attempt than mine.

A next one from me is another one that I'm going to see soon, 29 September: Anthony Joseph. A poet, writer, jazzman... and socially and politically very committed. I already presented him in the IA Talk Talk poll with a track that got some fair radio play last year on my preferred radio station. Now I got the chance to see him in concert thanks to the jazz festival Jazzèbre, in Perpignan (France). Here is another track from his latest album: Anthony Joseph - Swing Praxis: And here a live track from a performance last year: Anthony Joseph - Maka Dimweh (Jazz à la Villette, 2021): |

^ Thank you for reminding me of Anthony Joseph! I sometimes tend to forget about the not nominated artists and also in that poll there were quite a few participants. I think Joseph was my favourite of yours at the time. Enjoy and have fun! -It's great to hear about this jazz festival in Perpignan. I find smaller festivals often more exciting because you can discover new interesting artists and the atmosphere is more relaxed. During my summer holidays in Southern France I used to attend Jazz à Juan and the Nice Jazz Festival but nowadays you see only old familiar names in their line-ups. I wonder who is in charge of programming there. Despite this, I always wanted to attend Jazz à Marciac, at least once. I hope it happens one day, it's not that close from Nice, though. Have you been there?

I've got one more. There's a sports complex a couple of miles from where I live that boasts one of the largest collections of synthetic all weather turf in the nation with 12 full size fields for sporting tournaments from youth to college. It's operated by my county's Park and Recreation department. This year they added hosting live music concerts, accommodating up to 7,000. All acts so far have not spurred my interest but upcoming next month is southern rock jam band Gov't Mule. I realize this style probably doesn't have much interest here, but if my work isn't heavy then, I will be checking it out as I have been a fan for quite some time and have never seen them live.
Their latest album from November 2021 is their first "all blues" album in their 25+ years of existence with a mix of covers and originals. This is a cover of a Tom Waits song. Gov't Mule - Make It Rain Edited by mathman0806 - September 18 2022 at 18:58 |

Thanks a lot George, I haven't heard any blues here for a while now; a cool choice! But what I like most about this poll here are the accompanying stories. So thank you for yours as well! We could have done with some more people, though but it is still enjoyable the way it is. :)

Each I enjoy very much in its own way, but still I favour the Aquaserge and Brandão Faber Hunger tracks. |

^ Thank you, Greg! It isn't easy to make a decision because these two songs are musically similar to a certain degree (downtempo, female/male vocals), also in terms of mood. Maybe I should rather choose one of Aquaserge's instrumental pieces instead. Let's see.

^^^^ Can anyone advise me? I will definitely post Bersani's song but I am undecided between Counting Crows and The Dream Syndicate.

The Dream Syndicate one is my preference, but then I like that kind of moodiness. It is much more in in my wheelhouse than the Counting Crows, which is not nearly so much to my taste. |

Haven't really listened to the posted songs yet, so I cannot be of much help for advice. My two nominated tracks are: Tindersticks - The Bough Bends and
Anthony Joseph - Swing Praxis. |

I like all three. I'd probably not vote for Aquaserge as I know the track already, but it may even be the one I like most. It'd be a tough choice in any case.

^ Thank you, Christian! - Could you please tell me the title of your Matmos piece? I went quickly through their Plastic Anniversary album but I'm not quite sure which one it is.

You're right, it's not on that album. I thought it is, because they played it in Bologna using their signature plastic thingy, and also the time before when I saw them touring that album. It's not on the albums surrounding Plastic Anniversary either, or on any other that I have (that's six out of maybe 15-20 they did). I think we should call it "Unknown Title".
