^ Same here. Space Revolver is my #1 TFK album. I mean it's excellent from start to finish. Other TFK albums have stronger tracks, but none has this perfect flow.
On the other hand, The Rainmaker is just "very good", not "excellent".

Unfortunately, I haven't heard the last four TFK albums. Which ones are the best?
Rainmaker is very good. The first two or three tracks are great but then it loses steam a bit. It picks up a little bit towards the end though. Space Revolver has very few weak moments and is one of my personal favorites. Edited by AFlowerKingCrimson - August 23 2022 at 15:26 |

^ Last four albums? What do you mean?
If you mean: Desolation Rose, 2013 Waiting for Miracles, 2019 Islands, 2020 By Royal Decree, 2022 the clear winner is Desolation Rose (for me, at least) ! The other ones have some highlights, though. I even made a "best-of" from the 2019-2022 albums (duration of 78:46).

By Royal Decree is pretty darn fooking good! But I'd have to agree for me Desolation Rose is the winner of the last 4 rekkids. |

I should I have said last three. When I said last four I was including the Roine Stolt presents the Flower King album which technically is a solo album like his 1994 album. Desolation Rose is the last one I bought but I didn't care for it too much to be honest. I still have it though so maybe I'll try again. Maybe it will grow on me.

I've listened to all of The Flower Kings albums now, but I still think Roine Stolt's Flower King album is the best of all of them. It's blooming marvellous!

Scot, great list. I especially like your top five or so. Imo (out of what I have heard so far which is most of them) the Flower Kings didn't put out any bad albums. Of course some are better than others.

Nice job!! Love that you have Sum Of No Evil so high, that and A&E are two of my favs. Banks Of Eden is the one newer album I have just not been into. I will need to give it more listens to see if it hits me differently than when I first heard it. That's the reason I don't have that one on LP........Maybe that will change. Keep em coming man!

I know. For me they are pretty equal. A few months ago, I've made a "single CD" selection from the last three albums with only my favourite tracks and a nice running order. 1. Broken (6:48) - Islands 2. World Gone Crazy (5:06) - By Royal Decree 3. Revolution (6:03) - By Royal Decree 4. Miracles for America (10:04) - Waiting for Miracles 5. Vertigo (9:59) - Waiting for Miracles 6. Solaris (9:32) - Islands 7. All I Need Is Love (5:54) - Islands 8. Ascending to the Stars (5:41) - Waiting for Miracles 9. Funeral Pyres (7:15) - By Royal Decree 10. The Crowning of Greed (4:50) - Waiting for Miracles 11. We Were Always Here (7:35) - Waiting for Miracles Total Time 78:47 You can give it a try...
