Hi,

I am Tilda, PR for Esthesis project.
They just released a new album today, Watching Worlds Collide, but style, bio and profil image are incorrect on the generic page (the album page seems OK). Can you fix all these points please?

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=11552

- Profil picture : you can use the cover of their new album, or a picture I can upload on the forum if you prefer.

- Style : progressive rock / post progressive rock (not neo prog)

- Bio :

Esthesis is a progressive & alternative rock project formed and led by French multi-instrumentalist Aurélien Goude (music, lyrics, keyboards, vocals, guitars, bass and other stuff). The current line up is composed of three other musicians : Baptiste Desmares (lead guitar), Marc Anguill (bass) and Arnaud Nicolau (drums). Esthesis music is characterized by many influences (british rock, film score, jazz, ambient, metal, electronic music...) and primarily based on emotion and ambiences. After a first sold out EP in 2019 ("Raising Hands"), Esthesis released a debut album in November 2020 ("The Awakening"). "The Awakening" has been acclaimed by many rock magazines around the world and Esthesis won the Prog Magazine Reader's Poll in December 2020 ("best unsigned band 2020").

A new single, "Place Your Bets", has been released on 15th June 2022, with a brand new music video. The highly anticipated new Esthesis album, "Watching Worlds Collide", has been released on 19th August 2022 on the independent label and music production company Misty Tones, founded by Aurélien Goude

New album is available here with all infos : https://lnk.to/esthesis

Thank you in advance! Smile

Tilda

I only noticed this now, but that album entry duplicates the non-Project one, which appears to be the more appropriate artist: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=76104
Merge the info there?

Hi, Tilda, thanks for your help, but little we can do immediately.
I'll try to explain it point to point.

Technically I can use any cover, but the last thing I'd like to do in order to promote the band is to use the cover of their new album. It would be pointless. I'd prefer to have a good band's photo in action. The band is new here, nobody (except devoted fans) can recognize musicians, but if we had a hot live snapshot it could attract attention. Please post a photo or (better) several band's photos, we'll choose the best one for their page.

Originally posted by CrimsonMojito CrimsonMojito wrote:

- Nothing we can do about it.
Please be carefull with genres-subgenres. "Progressive rock" term includes all subgenres, we can't simply categorize any band as Progressive Rock band. And there is no such category on PA as "post progressive rock".
What, in your opinion, is a proper subgenre for Esthesis?

If you answer this question, then, please keep in mind the following:
The band was included on PA as Neo-Prog act. To change it, it's necessary to contact at least 2 Genre Teams - Neo Prog Team and some other genre team (you have to decide which one). I can say (having some experience) that moving a band from one subgenre to another is quite a time-consuming procedure. My friendly advice is to leave it as it is.
Please keep also in mind that any band can have albums belonging to different genres, but here, on PA, any band/artist can (technically) belong to the only one genre.

According to Admins' request, any changes in bios have to be approved by original writers or genre teams. I can pass the text you suggest to Neo Prog Team, no problem.

But If you'd like to have a bio actual for many years, it would be better not to mention recent releases (some years later the'll become "old news"), but underline the band's pecualiarities, i.e. describe what's so special in their music and why the prog world needs to know these guys.

As any registered PA member, you can add this single by yourself. We, collaborators and PA users, build the site database together - that's how PA works all these years. Please follow PA guidelines at that and feel free to ask our help if necessary.

It's rather the info for the band's official website (page), we have no such section on the bands' pages.

WHEATSTONE BRIDGE
Prog Related • United States

Possibly the most odd and incomprehensible entry on the whole site? Which band is this? The link to website goes outside the subject music. One unnamed studioalbum from '79 and a simillar live from '81 are mentioned in the biography. A long jump to a strange single from '03? There's one namesake with an album from '76 called 'Bad Connection' with some minor alleged prog tendencies.

Kind Regards,
Per

^ Very weird entry indeed!

After further investigation, I think we really should delete this obscure band, because they only have a demo record (that can't be found anywhere today). The only info I found is here: http://www.prognaut.com/reviews/wheatstone-bridge.html

I think the mention "Album 1, studio album (1979) / Album 2, live (1981)" is from a template, and has nothing to do with this band.

Submission thread from 2005:

And here is a post asking deletion back in... 2006 !!!

Not to be confused with this other band:

The album X by Kraan is technically an ep but not listed as such here. Both allmusic.com and rate your music have it as an ep.

it's listed as an album on discogs but as an EP (short album) on their official site.
I'll try and edit that.

For the single for "Running Up That Hill", I would recommend breaking down the track listing similar to how its Wikipedia article does (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Running_Up_That_Hill#Track_listing_and_formats), especially as I own a 12" single version (this apparently: https://www.discogs.com/release/2233576-Kate-Bush-Running-Up-That-Hill-Extended-Version) and I was planning to review it soon... As follows, roughly:

Songs / Tracks Listing

UK 7" single:

A. Running Up That Hill

B. Under the Ivy

UK 12" maxi single:

A. Running Up That Hill (Extended Version)

B1. Under the Ivy

B2. Running Up That Hill (Instrumental)

US 12" maxi single:

A. Running Up That Hill (Extended Version)

B. Running Up That Hill

...

Releases information

7" vinyl single / 12" vinyl single EMI KB1 / 12" vinyl promotional single EMI America, 5 August 1985

I've noticed the Triumvirat single Timothy/Dancer's Delight isn't in the Archives.

I don't think I'm the only one who noticed that and I'm sure people have submitted that single to PA numerous times over the years. But for some reason, it's still has not been officially accepted to be listed.

So, could anybody enlighten me why that single isn't in the archives?

you can add albums/singles/EPs as well. Just have a credible resource for information.
