I recently read an opinion saying though May's guitar was a big part of his sound, it was his approach that made the difference in tone. Not sure if I agree, but it's an intriguing notion and not off base. Red Spec |

I read once (don't remember where) that he uses a specific type of English coin as a plectrum.

Yes I've read that, I think it was a sixpence although how anyone could play guitar with one of those is beyond me. I also believe that guitar was made from bits of an old fireplace.
