Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

RIP Vin. Legendary announcer.

Fave Scully moment was Kirk Gibson's 1988 WS homer:

^^^
I'm from the east coast (New Jersey/Philadelphia, PA) I've been a Dodger fan since the very early 60s.  When I made my first visit to Mecca (Chavez Ravine) I wore my radio so I could hear Vin Scully call the game.  Baseball has dramatically changed over the years and now with Scully's passing I doubt it will ever be the same.  R.I.P.

I was not at this game, but this is my favorite Vin Scully call:
Koufax's perfect game called by Scully

Hi,

One of the only reasons that I liked baseball, was by listening to Vin Scully in the 70's ... wonderful and so colorful.

Memorable? There was a moment with Maury Wills trying to steal 2nd, and it took him some 12 tries before he could get it done ... and the whole time, it seemed like a giant battle ... I don't remember the pitcher at the time, but they were able to hold Maury Wills for some time ... until he got his stolen base! You knew that someone that tried so hard to get it done was an all star ... and he was!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

As someone who grew up in the greater Los Angeles area during Scully's prime, let me just say that it is impossible to imagine what those times would have been like without him. Even if you did not like baseball, if you went to any public place (beach, park, swimming pool, etc.) during the spring and summer, there was his voice pouring forth from seemingly hundreds of portable & car radios. Which is not to mention all the businesses and homes where his broadcasts were constantly on.

I grew up with Vin Scully, went to many Dodger games and watched countless games on TV. Easily the voice of baseball...
