Funny, I was oddly deflated by it. I really wanted to like it when it came out, but it sounded too much like a film soundtrack go these jaded ears.

I mean that's exactly what I love about it. It's like Symphony X with heavy Jewish and Mizrachi folk elements, produced with an extensive cinematic arrangement - I find it quite entrancing; I just let the soundscape take me to another world, kind of in the same vein as the neofolk bands like Forndom and Heilung. But it is definitely not for everyone, I suppose and it definitely requires patience to fully grasp.
