12:01 (1993 - US): Groundhog Day with a dumber (or less intelligent, however you see it), more handsome and less comical protagonist and a far more charming leading actress and more intriguing events (add some Office Space spice here from the future). Yep, this sums up what this movie is. I read that both Groundhog Day and this movie was based on the short movie from the year 1991 with the same title as the movie that I'm writing about here (12:01). I haven't watched that short film, but am planning to do it soon(ish). I even watched Groundhog Day quite recently, hahah. Well, this movie that I'm writing about is like the twin of a celebrity: same qualities but virtually zero "fame". I would rate it with a 6/10 normally, as I would do to Groundhog Day; whilst this idea seems like groundbreaking in the first half of the '90s. So, 7/10 it is.

Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel (2009 - UK): A nice British sci-fi/comedy. Each and every aspect of it was integrated in a poised manner, which renders the film very easy and fun to watch. 7.5/10

The I Inside (2004 - US): The story here was a bed of nails for the protagonist; and the leading actor was convincing in externalizing his endeavours and suffering... I believe this was a rigorously crafted movie; very well done indeed. Excellent perhaps, even; still and all, zest does not always suffice to make a movie outstanding in my book. This movie lacks the touch of a magic wand of ingenuity. 6/10

Top Gun: Maverick
On par with the first one (maybe better at times). A tad slow in the beginning but picks up nicely after that. Excellent seens with the aircraft. This is a suggestion (not mandatory) if you've never seen the original you might want to see it or refresh your memory to get the most out of the new film (again not mandatory). |

The Skull (1965 - UK): This was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Totally ridiculous. Crappy, not creepy. I only laughed in the second half. Marquis de Sade would be

Sanatorium pod Klepsydra (1973 - Poland): Well, bizarre but uninteresting. I appreciated the effort put here. The directing, the setting... pretty much every aspect of the film was well-thought-out and impressively realized; presumably as planned. But hey, this was too bland of a movie for my taste/understanding. 5/10

High Hopes (1988 - UK): Priceless acting, natural flow of events and dialogues. Sometimes funny, sometimes a bit sad. It's gotta be very impactful for the British, or at least plenty of them, I guess. I really could find no flaws in this work. I'll ignore the political "side" of the movie. I believe the prevalent undertone of the movie proves it rather elidible. 10/10

Crossworlds (1996 - US): I loved how the main antagonist was like as if Agent Smith of The Matrix and Jon Irenicus of Baldur's Gate II were commixed; Stuart Wilson was formidably terrific here as Ferris. It was a good movie. If only I had seen this film back when it first came out; it would be far more fun to watch this one in my adolescency. 6.5/10

Crimes of the Future (2022 - Canada/France/Greece/UK): I flat out can say that this film was a disappointment. I'm a colossal fan of David Cronenberg and I expected much better. It was quite interesting in the beginning, and towards the end; but the rest was quite boring if not banal. I figure, I got the crucial symbolisms and messages conveyed here, but some of the dialogues really lost me (and this movie is swarming with dialogues). I think I'm gonna watch this flick sometime again. Hope I'll "get" it better that time. 6/10

Saw Dr Strange the Multiverse.......ok if you like Marvel fillms in general but the story was a bit silly and some of the humor was a bit lame.

UFO (2018 - US): Definitely a very good cast. Everything about the film was neat. The focal point of the movie can easily be guessed from its title (lol). It was an enjoyable, though not particularly a very good watch. 6.5
The film reminded 2 of my most memorable memories regarding my maths classes. I'll skip the humiliating one (don't wanna drop my reputation points, haha), but I'm gonna tell the other (which began even more scandalously, hahah). It was my first year in high school and I got a score of 04/100 in my first maths exam. It should have been 0/100 in fact, but I happened to solve a part of a problem with my ZERO knowledge about the topic. My parents got furious with this result and forced me to take private lessons to compensate for that. And in the next exam I got a score of around 80. My teacher called me in front of the board, and brought all the class to their feet for such an "amazing" improvement. BTW, nearly all my classmates were absolute geeks, especially in maths and science classes (plenty of them were studying or solving problems even during breaktimes), and I was one of the few lazy ones. Anyway, I still hate maths. Hahahah. Lest you were not vexed with this cocky off-topicness, I can annoy you with a spoiler: I wish that young boy had been abducted by some malevolent aliens instead; that would be more fun. You know, humans are too kind; even the FBI people that picked him up. Edited by Archisorcerus - June 25 2022 at 14:20 |

Enemy (2013 - Canada/Spain/France): Man, this was a quasi-smart movie. Symbolisms, huh? Yeah, Everybody fabricates everything after they watch such confusing movies. Let me add to that, and join the "smart movie watchers" club. Lol.
Spoilers: Actually here, Adam was Anthony's "real" self, that means the Anthony before being a celebrity (an actor). And, as we all know, most of such celebrities live in their dream worlds. But, here is the trick: Anthony's pre-celebrity self also lives in a quasi-real world. You see? Anthony's wife is pregnant and beautiful, but Adam's wife is less "shiny" but not pregnant (yet). Also, Anthony's wife is Adam's wife after some plastic surgeries. See, she is a celebrity's wife now. They are the same, just as Adam and Anthony are the same. And the car accident: it simply means Adam killed the "fake" Anthony and her wife's pre-celebrity's-wife self. Because he can kill his "celebritized" self, but not his wife's celebirty's lover (current) self, unless he commits a real/physical murder.. Realistically, the pre-celebrity's wife was already long gone. She is a plastic surgery miracle and pregnant woman now. You cannot undo it. It is out of his control / effectual reach. His one self can/could kill the other (not literally of course), but he cannot do that to another person. BTW, Anthony recognizes his wife's older (non-plasticized) self, but she understands that Anthony is not the husband she knows. And the final scene OBVIOUSLY shows that Adam/Anthony is nuts. And he is mentally sick. As this is not a fantasy movie. Such a tarantula cannot exist. Don't come up with, "but there's a report of the accident..." crap. 1stly, it can be a coincidence and it can be a different accident, 2ndly, we saw a fantastically gigantic tarantula there. So Adam/Anthony could probably hear sounds that don't exist. Perhaps he didn't have a wife even, in the first place. Who knows?.. Spoiler again: Second theory of mine (kinda like Mementoesque): That accident actually happened long ago and Adam's wife died there and Adam survived. He then lost his sanity (could be related to the physical impact of the accident on his brain or only because of the huge trauma that her passing away caused), and in the final scene, the gigantic spider might be a sort of a trick his sick mind played, to show that his wife does not live anymore. Perhaps directly seeing an empty room could have been more shocking and could cause another big trauma. Also, perhaps hearing the reporting of another similar car accident could initiate his disillusionment which resulted in realising that his wife no longer lives. 5/10 Edited by Archisorcerus - June 26 2022 at 16:47 |

Pahanhautoja (2022 - Finland/Sweden): A modern grotesque horror masterpiece. The typical unfolded into some incredible bizarreness. Infinitely intelligent and artistic too. 10/10

The Northman Well-conceived and reasonably plausible Viking mythology with ample muck, mire, rape & pillaging has Alexander Skarsgård a Prince whose father was murdered by the young boy's uncle. Seeking vengeance for the slain King and his kidnapped mother, he becomes a Nordic raider while secretly on a quest to find the King's regicidal brother. Something like if the Conan story was told with more realism and intelligence, and rather good. |

The Mandela Effect (2019 - US): What a mess, what a pathetic effort. I would give a false name if I were in the team for the filming of this crapfest. I would still do my cameramanship or whatever, but I wouldn't wish my name to appear in its credits. 1/10
And, oh, oooooooh; the main character of the film: You ARE crazy. You're no Evan of The Butterfly Effect. The movie you're in does not have the cinema magic enough for me to be able to suspend my disbelief. Edited by Archisorcerus - June 30 2022 at 15:55 |

Thor: Love and Thunder5/10 (for a buff Natalie Portman and a more stable Valkyrie) Well, on first viewing I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. At around 2 hrs it is a little shorter than the average Marvel movie and yet Taika tried to pack it all in. Unfortunately he missed the mark on this one. I won't share any details but make this note... There are several scenes that are played with dripping sarcasm that left me a little cold. Early on when Christian Bale's character meets his 'god', the god seemed silly and irreverent. I think it would have strengthened the scene if he had been played more uncaring and detached from Bale's civilization. Same sort of thing with the Zeus character, too much goof and not enough menace took me out of the moment. I really hope Marvel doesn't fall into a bad routine of 'Dumb and Dumber' Thor movies.

The Man From Toronto - Kevin Hart and Woody Harrleson head the cast. I really like both these actors and what could have been a very mediocre movie was certainly lifted by having these 2 in it. The odd laugh out loud moment but it's a typical by-the-book Hollywood comedy film. 6.5/10
Men - Another 2 actors who I really like: Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear are in the prominent roles here (in fact Rory Kinnear plays half a dozen other characters). It's an oddball horror as Jessie Buckley's character rents a large country manor house after a personal tragedy at home where she meets male characters (all played by Kinnear). It's really weird and I admit to having no idea what it was all about. It was shot beautifully and Rory Kinnear was amazing as always, but they're about the only positives one can take from this mess. The end scenes are shocking, but bonkers, and then it ends. I did read an analysis but I'm none the wiser. So 4/10
