Anima Mundi - Spring Knocks on the Door of Men (Mark) This is a very long piece to begin with. Starts off with a bassoon solo after which some keyboards come in. The instrumentation is generally very keyboard-based. After 2:30 there's a restrained guitar solo, and we get a few complex rhythmic changes. From 4:30 the vocals come in. His vocal style sounds a bit like David Gilmour to me (though not so much when he enters the high register). Personally I miss an element of something more dissonant; the overall sound is very soft and, dare I say, polished, and I think it would have benefited from a more rough sound production. A too clean sound is not an advance from my perspective, but this is mainly a taste issue. The uptempo from around 15:00 is a nice change of pace.

^ As if by divine providence, that is where the space ran out, although I had tried to shorten the song title with the help of an ampersand. If you would rather something else that would fit (that entry is maxed out), then let me know. Lewian would fit, but as I tried to keep to our Christian names... EDIT: Instead of waiting for a response, I changed it to Lewian. Some might find that a little less flattering.

I think it's the first time ever somebody made "Christ" out of my name.

^ Sure, I should have doubled checked to see how well they fit the poll options.

@Greg, thank you so much for taking over, even though you are busy atm. Tbh I only yesterday realized that you are actually an admin. lol The playlist is now updated, too.- Can I ask you for a small favour? Given the limited space in the table, could you please write:
Camille Pépin - The Sound of Trees, mvt 4/6. It seems more important to me that people understand that this is just one movement from that concerto. The name of the performing orchestra is shown on the record cover that appears in the video. Edited by Mila-13 - May 03 2022 at 13:56 |

dr wu mentioned
1. XTC - Season Cycle 2. Simon & Garfunkel - A Hazy Shade of Winter 3. Strawbs - Autumn It's been been more than 32 hours since I tried to contact Doug (dr wu), but since I haven't heard back from him, he hasn't logged since the first of May, and I don't know when I will, and also due due to my time constraints, I do want to get this going now. When I made these Interactive polls I would say write if someone had multiple suggestions, then if no one had been nominated by a certain time, then I would automatically consider the first mention to be the nomination. I also happen to think that XTC is pretty cool, and I didn't know it as well as the others (especially the S&G which I have heard so many, many times). Sorry not waiting for confirmation. I'll start editing in the choices to Cristi's poll soon and will stick with Mila's order (that list makes the task easy). I'll format it the way Cristi has in past poll with the username or real name in round brackets (parentheses) after the artist and song using Mila's post as my guide. Anima Mundi - Spring Knocks on the Door of Men (wiz_d_kidd) Gnags - Endnu et efterår (Anders) Paolo Fresu - Luce d'autunno (Lorenzo) Comus - Winter Is a Coloured Bird (Greg) Tavaramarkkinat - Kevät (Hiram/Pekka) Mick Karn - The Sad Velvet Breath of Summer and Winter (Christian) The Flaming Lips - My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion (George) Camille Pépin/Orchestre de Picardie - The Sound of Trees, mvt 4/6 (Mila) Nexatras - Spring Song (Cristi) Peter Hammill - Summer Song (In the Autumn) (I prophesy disaster) Agnes Obel - September Song (Kees) Renaissance - A Song for All Seasons (Argo/Mike) XTC - Season Cycle (dr wu) The poll is up and ready for people's three votes once they have all been listened to and considered. The null and void option does not count for your podium. Edited by Logan - May 03 2022 at 13:11 |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

No worries. I've sent the PMs and hopefully will get the responses later on today in this topic, and then I can put up the poll. I'm thinking that for the space with one vote already (the E poll line) that perhaps "spoiled entry" should be posted in it or something? I would have quite liked to label it a Fall from grace, spring forward to skip, or preferably something actually witty were this my poll, but that is more me speaking from the winter of my discontent and I would not do it here.

As busy as. am, I still have been doing silly stuff at PA, like a poll series that took considerable time to prepare. I will happily help out, Cristi, and can edit the poll into this topic. Mila’s work on the list of nominations and playlist makes it much easier. I just would maybe want to PM Dr wu and ipd for their nominations.

^ I dpn't know how Lorenzo can help other than create a new poll with the final songs, but anyone can do that i guess. But only me or an admin can edit the OP poll.
