See? That sounds a lot more sympathetic and will hopefully not discourage Mila to create playlists in the future. You could show some gratitude, at least.

Thank you Mila!

I don't see how I was disrespectful here. Confused
I am also not trying to discourage her to create playlists, I don't know where that came from. Confused

I wasn't talking about disrespect but about gratitude. It would be much more sympathetic to first thank someone for doing us a favor, before pointing at things that could be better. That's all. Mila is doing us a favor.
I would be discouraged to make playlists if I was only pointed to things that don't work or could be better without any "thank you".

I am grateful, I've always thanked to whoever made the playlists.

@Kees, you are welcome. I wanted to make it easier for you guys to check the list and comment on the contributions if you wish to do so. Btw. it could be a help for Meltdowner too; he hasn't been around for a while now. But I have now deleted the names of the participants.- Thank you for the comments on the many songs suggested. Much apprecieted! I wanted to do that too but I was away for the weekend. I will catch up later. I really miss Nickie. I hope she'll be back soon. Smile

The whole 'Running on Empty' album is great driving music, but I'll go for the title track that kicks it all off:

I find it kind of amusing that Edwin is in this poll twice - once as the vocalist for I Mother Earth, and once as a solo artist. I definitely prefer him with IME, than solo, but I do quite like his solo stuff. Likewise I prefer IME with Edwin, than without. The two post-Edwin albums are good, and have their moments - but neither is as good as the two Edwin albums that came before.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Mini Reviews:

Cristi:
Conventional rock ballad with heavy metal attitude (guitars), enthralling and epic singing especially in the chorus, nice to hear the Romanian (?) language punctuated with this clear vocals. Contender

JD: Conventional hard-rock ballad with sustained rhythm, heavy metal tenor vocals, enjoyable.

George: Third rock ballad (live), punctuated by the syncopated rhythm of the electric guitar riff (with an interesting French interlude), enjoyable.

Greg: Very pompous and dilated instrumental suite, epic and noisy in its beautiful progression. But there is a risk of crashing into a wall if you listen to this song in your car at night! Contender

Myself: song with (wonderful imho) poignant melody, tearjerking, here there is the risk of starting to cry while driving! In fact, I listened to it when I passed the town of an ex-girlfriend of mine.

Christian: After three simple rock songs, of pure entertainment, this is the third song in a row that tries to reach ecstasy: the first and this one through the obsessive noise, the second through the nostalgic melody. The final progression is the best part and prevents you from falling asleep in the car after the first too much interlocutory part!

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

Mini Reviews (second part)

? - Jackson Browne: Running on Empty... Oh, my dear Jackson, I love you

Samuel: Long Jam in the Winwood's style (jazz-blues-soul music). Driving the car with this music you ask yourself: will the road ever end?

Tigerfeet: Oh, what a nice happy, carefree song that puts you in a good mood as you drive to the beach in the summer!

P- Disaster: Here's the post new wave Peter Hammill rock song, it sounds great to me, but I can't vote for myself again!

Kees: Rock noisy song characterized by the dark sound of percussion, neurotic piece with flashes of light in the choirs.

Mila: short song with a dark and increasingly obsessive rhythm. If someone collides with your car while you listen to it, you risk getting out and beating him!

Nck: Strange song, with prog attitude, an instrumental interlude, and good rock moments. Contender.

My votes went to Edwin, Rondò Veneziano and Peter Hammill. I never really heard any PH but I very much like Vital for the punk vibe, I guess I'd find some interesting albums in his discography.

I've already selected from this album in an earlier interactive poll. I love that driving groove, and this track is my favourite from the album.

Windchase - No Scruples

Great to see Windchase pop up. An offshoot of Sebastian Hardie whose "Four Moments" is also well worth a listen. My favorite track from the Windchase album is "Glad to be Alive":

My top 3 were (and not in any specific order)

Lewian: Startled Insects - Creatures
Ronstein: Jackson Browne - Running On Empty
Mila: Nordmann - Cryptonym

I really liked Nordmann - Cryptonym a LOT - a nice find
I'm sorry, if you were right, I'd agree with you. Robin Williams.

I've listened quite a few times:

Nordmann's Cryptonym (my fave this round)
Startled Insects' Creatures
dEUS' Slow

Particular thanks to Samuel for making the poll on short notice, to Kees and Lorenzo for commenting on the choices (and to both for their positive feedback on Cisnienie) and to Mila for the playlist.
