not looking to argue, but two things here:
You spelled his name wrong - it's Al DiMeola

And I never recommended it, I was shocked about you not knowing about DiMeola and his most famous work, or at least one of them.

Thanks for letting me know. I thought I'd give you credit for recommending I listen to Al Di Meola, even though you didn't officially recommend him to me. It doesn't do much for my Jazz credentials though (such as they are) when I can't even spell Al Di Meola's name correctly. By the way, my favourite store happens to be ALDI, so that'll help me to remember how to spell his name next time. Tongue

Message for Grumpy: I'm not having much luck finding full album links - other than Live albums - for the Pat Metheny Group, so I'll Have to Call Off the Search for now. Let's hope I have better luck with Allan Holdsworth. In the meantime, here's a nice mellifluous song from Katie Melua. Smile

Not yet, but I will do now that you've mentioned him, and thanks for the great suggestion. Thumbs Up

In the meantime, here's a song from the album Today, which I'm posting simply Because I like it. Smile

I really dig the current Italian outfit Calibro 35. They’re certainly not reinventing the wheel, but man these guys groove

thank you Paul.  it was seeing Gabor Szabo on your list that made me look to see if you had posted Gary McFarland.  a musician friend & listener of SPACE PIRATE RADIO introduced me to Gary's AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL concept album.  very kindly sent me a CD copy when the show began broadcasting on Twitch.  became a fan of Gary's from then on.  was surprised I had never come across his work previously, especially since I played Gabor's music in the mid 70s.  I had heard the soundtrack to SLAVES, the Stephen Boyd, Dionne Warwick film, but the name didn't register.  glad that's all sorted out now.  best to you.

My pleasure. I'm now torn between which featured artist to choose for the letter "G" in my first A-Z playlist of Jazz favourites: either Gary McFarland or Gabor Szabo. Ermm
