^ You can't keep making movies about a teenager in a leotard and expect a different outcome.

Born of Hope (2009 - UK): Boring, boring, booooooo-riiiiiiinnnng!.. Fine acting, generally. The orcs, the costumes, the fighting sceness... All were good. They surely put their heart and soul into this movie. It could be (and seemingly is) a real treat for the LotR (the movies) fans; for most of them, I mean. I loved the trilogy too. But the budget was crucially important for me in them. This is a fan movie, so it naturally lacks that. 5/10

November (2017 - Estonia/Poland/Netherlands): An arthouse movie, and a good one. B&W (mostly "white" Tongue). I pretty much got what I hoped for. The "kratt" was a good bonus. That was pretty bizarre and interesting. Especially the opening scene with it was superb. I appreciated that some scenes were not as one expects. They seem to have risked "losing" a portion of the audience with their artistic approach for the sake of originality. 8/10

Den brysomme mannen (2006 - Norway/Iceland): The Idiocracy (2006) of the North. Just as hilarious and good, maybe even better. With a huge difference though. (See the spoiler below, or don't see if you wanna watch the film.)

Hearing Edward Grieg's famous tune from Solveig's Song was cool.

8/10

Colossal and glacial spoiler: The disposable "idiocrat" here was the protagonist.

Without Warning - cheapo "scifi" horror film about an alien that hunts earthpeople. Starts very promising but grinds to a halt halfway through. In the end the best thing about the film is that it inspired Predator and even featured the same actor as the alien! Martin Landau also does a great job overacting a wacko veteran.

La antena (2007 - Argentina): The movie definitely has a European feel to it. The dystopia portrayed here was horrid in nature, but the way it was conveyed didn't evoke any dread in me. Wonderful musical pieces "drive" this moving, beautiful little (mostly) silent film noir. It was engaging, but the showdown part was overlong. That can be my only negative criticism. 8.5/10

Taxandria (1994 - Belgium/Germany/France/Hungary/Netherlands/UK/US): I just loved, loved and loved the tunes in the movie. Especially the atmospheric ones that are reminiscent of the music that we call dungeon synth were majestic; howbeit, the movie was not that good. 6/10

The Matrix Resurrections (2021 - US): Pleasantly surprised by most of it, and then dismayed that my cake was dough. The (approximately) final quarter of it could have been a lot better. 7/10

The Batman

Black and ruinous, the current iteration of the Bruce Wayne legend is full of creeping tension and suspense, urban decay, and post-Punk energy as the dude in the cape & cowl battles a chilling and cherub-faced Paul Dano as Riddler.   Three hours but feels like two, and a long overdue dose of realism for these classic characters.

Paths Of Glory 9/10.  Early Kubrick masterpiece.  Of of many.
The Matrix Resurrections 3/10.  Tired retread.
I hope to see "X". I hear it's a good horror slasher.

The Ugly (1997 - New Zealand): A really good psychological horror/thriller. Great acting, directing, plot, and whatnot. 8/10

Das Privileg (2022 - Germany): Good atmosphere and settings, but the rest is totally uneven. This was like made not by real movie professionals, but fans/enthusiasts. Sure, everything seems professional, but this was just pretending. 5/10

I saw The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, a German film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. It seems to show the main character going into madness over somebody she loved leaving her, and the film features an all female cast. It was also rather strange, because this Petra von Kant always wore wigs, her servant was mute, and how crazy she behaves towards people. The whole house had these sculptures and also a wall that had a painting on it. The ending was also rather interesting as well, where Marlene(the servant) leaves with Petra´s belongings, as she has finally had enough of the abuse she got from her throughout the movie.

Aniara (2018 - Sweden/Denmark/US): One of the best films (let alone sci-fis) that I've ever watched. Truly awing! 10/10

Infinity Chamber (2016 - US): It was okayish and seemed like it would go on so forever, but turned out to be rewarding. The recurring blandness unfolded into an intriguing series of events; and the completion made me feel good. 7/10
