Another one of troublesome love, and that looks almost to be the only kind of love I can find in my collection which might indicate that this kind of love has been much in focus in Progressive Rock - even okay, my own taste has been mostly to the more dark Prog, so that could be the explanation, as well. Catapilla - "Promises" ................... Promises you made to me, of freedom love and luxury, are now part of an history's back numbers. The liberties that you are taking Ensure that people's shaking, would eventually whip us from this slumber. And nobody says, and no one's secure, and within I just crashed the lights out, any fool's a madness, that's for sure, and tellin' the silence of life, has been falling to the ground. I'll see you around. This soul I see, you think you're clever, living in your vile endeavour, the promises you did to me were never ending. The blood of us is yet unborn, the body's smashed and bruised and torn. These answers went when you just keep on sending. Now you try to justify, you keep things to me. I write you with a mind too of humanity, but something in the context of your life, that deadly cuts off every power. ....................... (from the selftitled debut album (1971))

Marillion - "Script for a Jester's Tear" So here I am once more In the playground of the broken hearts One more experience, one more entry In a diary, self penned Yet another emotional suicide Overdosed on sentiments and pride Too late to say I love you Too late to restage the play Abandoning the relics In my playground of yesterday ................... (from the album Script for a Jester's Tear (1983))

^ Oh yes, Script for a Jester's Tear should have been my third song mentioned, besides And You And I, and Lady Fantasy.

I just mentioned this Marillion tune in another thread (poll). This is a beautiful love song, tinged with melancholy:
