Which ones do you know? Which ones do you love? No limitations in terms of length or number of songs you post, I am more than curious to see what the fellow forum users will suggest.

As I said in the other thread, Peter Hammill has more than his fair share of love songs. Here's a playlist containing eight songs indicated as "Peter Hammill - Love Songs":
I know most but not all of these songs. |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

^ As for Van der Graaf Generator love songs, a few that could be considered love songs come to mind such as:
Lost: The Dance In Sand And Sea / The Dance In The Frost When She Comes Lizard Play Edited by I prophesy disaster - March 12 2022 at 04:35 |

Van der Graaf Generator - "Lost" .............. .............. At some point I lost you, I don't know quite how it was; The wonderland lay in a coat of white, chilling frost I looked around and I found I was truly lost: Without your hand in mine I am dead Reality is unreal and games I've tried just aren't the same: Without your smile there's nowhere to hide And deep inside I know I've never cried as I'm about to If I could just frame the words that would make your fire burn All this water now around me could be the love that Should surround me. Looking out through the tears that bind me My heart bleeds that you may find me .. or at least that I can Forget and be numb, but I can't stop, the words still come: I LOVE YOU (from the album H to He Who Am the Only One (1970)) |

Agree with both of You and add the following one : Peter Hammill A Way out from his eponym 1990 CD Out of joint, out of true, out of love, Out of the blue, out of order, out of orbit, Out of control, Out of touch, out of line, out of sync And out of time, out of gas, out of tread, Out of road. Out of date, out of stock, out of use - Out, out dammed spot! You want out, you want out of it for good. Out of the running, out of the game, Out on your feet, clear out of range, Out of context, out of contact, Out of the woods. Out, out, looking for a way out, No straws are left to cling to; Out, out, going for the fade-out... but what do you fade into? Out on the town, out for laughs, Out of service, out to grass, Out of mourning, our of purdah, Out of bail, Out of kilter, out grace, Out to get out of this place, Out of this world, out and out Beyond the plae. Right out of character, out of sympathy, So far out upon a limb you're out of your tree.... Out of breath, out of tune, out of your head And out of view, down and out, Out for the count, or is it just for revenge? Out of sight, out of mind, leave it out, Leave it behind out of reach Of all family, all friends Out, out, going for the bale-out, No parachute above you. Out, out, you'll not feel the fall-out ...I wish I'd said "I love you Edited by mellotronwave - March 12 2022 at 10:36 |

I think 2 obvious ones are From The Beginning and Still You Turn Me On by ELP.....at least I think they are 'love songs'....as well as these two that seem like love songs to me.

This is a bit special love song but anyway: Frank Zappa - "Dinah-Moe Humm" I couldn't say where she's coming' from, But I just met a lady named Dinah-Moe Humm She stroll on over, say look here, bum, I got a forty dollar bill say you can't make me cum (Y'jes can't do it) She made a bet with her sister who's a little bit dumb She could prove it any time all men was scum I don't mind that she called me a bum, But I knew right away she was really gonna cum (So I got down to it) I whipped off her bloomers 'n stiffened my thumb An' applied rotation on her sugar plum I poked 'n stroked till my wrist got numb But I still didn't hear no Dinah-Moe Humm, ................. ................. (from the album Over-nite Sensation (1973))

Couple of favorites:
Peter Hammill - Alice (Letting Go) - one of the most intense breakup songs I’ve heard Yes - Give Love Each Day - a sincere and happy love song from the Magnification album. I could see someone having this as their wedding song if it wasn’t 7 1/2 minutes long. |

Wondr'ing Aloud was already mentioned, so here's another Tull love song...
And perhaps the most ambiguous love song ever sung in 37 seconds... Edited by The Dark Elf - March 12 2022 at 16:56 |
