The first 3 or 4 by them are fun folky psych pop.....that one is collectable on original vinyl

First screening - those that speak to me today are Michael Gira, Cloud Nothings, Pearls Before Swine, Pikkardiyska Tertsiya, Funkadelic, AudioPlastik, Giorgi Mikadze, Van der Graaf Generator, and Lluis Llach.

I will exclude VDGG, Lluis Llach, Michael Gira, and AudioPlastik, as my way of appreciating them is different from "expressing my feelings".

Maybe I should pick very intuitively... I can't say that I "like" the Funkadelic track very much but somehow it resonates with me quite strongly; I can very much feel the mood that this has.  The second one that hit me very directly was the Ukrainian a capella piece of Pikkardiyska Tertsiya... I wasn't going to pick my vote based on a clear reference to the current events, however this music is closest to the deep sadness I feel regularly these days about the idiocy of humankind. (Mila, I appreciate a lot the richness of your inputs to these polls!)

This theme is also present in the third one I pick, which is Mikadze's Moaning. This is probably the best in terms of music discovery, and indeed, I can feel it.

Honorary mention then to Cloud Nothings and Pearls Before Swine.

I’ve taken some time to listen closely to these songs because this is not a poll like any other. It’s really personal and I’d like to say a special thanks to each one of you for your wonderful contributions!

These are the songs speaking to me the most:

Lluís Llach: Campanades a morts This composition is a quite unique work of art. A multitude of moods and feelings woven together into a symphony of great intensity and power, both in the loud and soft sounds, combined with expressive and poetic lyrics. A requiem and memorial to a historical event, the notorious crushing of a workers’ strike by the Spanish police in the post Franco era. Despite some technical issues (ad breaks) I managed to watch the entire video featuring impressive images of the live performance and footage of the historic events.- An audio live recording of this piece as part of a live album is available on youtube and spotify which allowed me to listen to the entire piece without interruption. 

The Grassy Knoll: Unbelievable Truth Powerful, intense, restless, worrying. All these attributes I would assign to this piece. There’s a multitude of musical influences but basically their music is rooted in experimental jazz and jazz fusion including hip-hop rhythms. This reminds me very much of Shabaka Hutchings’ The Comet Is Coming, one of my favourite recent discoveries but hey, The Grassy Knoll did that some twenty years ago (or so) already!

Pink Floyd: Breathe After this roller coaster of emotions which also reflect my current mood, Pink Floyd’s Breathe offers an oasis of peace and quiet, here played in a very intimate way with an acoustic guitar sounding so full and warm. What a comfort that is! I don’t mind that it is a well-known song, since there are certain songs that accompany us throughout life, isn’t it?

I’m glad that some of you appreciated my contribution. As mentioned earlier I actually think that such a song shouldn't be part of any kind of competition or poll, but I felt that a song from Ukraine should not be missing at this particular occasion. I know various Ukrainian artists and bands but this song really represents me or the way I feel atm.
