Welcome. It would help if I got to know your tastes better, and also I tend to favour bands that sing in their native language.
That said, I will mention Earth Flight's Riverdragons & Elephant Dreams, which is a progressive alternative heavy rock band from Germany with post-rock qualities: https://earthflight.bandcamp.com/album/riverdragons-elephant-dreams And I also will mention Long Distance Calling. How Do We Want to Live? is from 2020. https://www.longdistancecalling.de/listen.html Those are ones that I think on the Nu Prog (or nü-prog) side (alternative progressive rock), as opposed to the Neu! Prog side which is more Krautrock than the Germans I mentioned. I like Neu! prog. Edited by Logan - February 11 2022 at 10:33 |

Use the style/genre column on the right to narrow down your choices, since we don't know if you like electronic, psych/space, neo, or whatever. Their bio's will give you an idea if they're "contemporary" enough for you. |

Hi, Welcome to PA. Spend some time with Space Pirate Radio ... you'll find that the German Progressive thing, or what used to be known as krassrock is alive and well. Spelling intentional! You just have to remember that they don't sound conventional ... Edited by moshkito - February 12 2022 at 19:00 |

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

good call on Favni and Martigan While not especially to my taste, Traumhaus has been around quite a while at this point and might be worth checking out

^ oh yeah, Toxic Smile and Long Distance Calling are great suggestions. Toxic Smile is so overlooked, it's a shame really.

I am a real fan of Long Distance Calling and I've got Farewell of Toxic Smile. I think they don't exist anylonger.
