This Cohen Brothers film ticks all the boxes. Great characters played by great actors, wonderful cinematography, a quirky storyline and a fantastic conclusion.
Completely agree: a great film. The original (with Peter Sellers) was already very good, but this - rather free - remake by the Coen brothers is very entertaining! Great actor performances, indeed.

I liked this a lot when it first came out. I watched it again last year and found Tom Hanks annoying. Good film nonetheless and the conclusion is indeed fantastic. I haven't seen the original, but will try and fix that at some point. 

I watched The Hound of the Baskervilles. Hammer films version of classic Sherlock Holmes story filmed about 20 times or so is entertaining with cool actors and occasional gothic psychedelic touch. 

Got a couple of classic film noirs lined up next and then I'll start combing through a huge box of dvd's I bought from a friend (probably 200 or so titles, that'll take the rest of my life...).

Code 46 (2003 - UK/US): It was enjoyable. A bleak dystopia which was not nightmarishly portrayed. A little beautiful film. 7.5/10

Criminal Audition (2019 - UK): All the movie, except for the ending, was shot indoors. It added sort of an asphyixiant air to the movie. The tension was balanced. The dialogues were OK. A bit amateurish things can be observed here and there, but it kept me interested till the end. 7/10

Incubus (1965 - US): A movie in Esperanto language. Watching this film was tantamount to reading a high-calibre fantastical gothic horror book; just as enjoyable. Delightfully eerie theme music was one of its highlights. A real treat, and seemingly an underappreciated gem. 8.5/10

Well, for an 'origin story' prequel to the Kingsman franchise this was a bit of a disappointment. There was none of the funny over the top dialogue or innovative action sequences that made the first two outings stand out in the crowded action field.
Instead, we get more of an historical period piece that mashes together all the obvious 'history' as a pretext to the creation of the Kingsman organization, which we don't get to see until the dying moments of the film.
Given the fun the first two movies were, I'm not ready to write it off just yet, but they really need to get it together if they continue the series.

The Big Heat - dramatic and captivating noir/crime film about a good cop in a bad world. Surprisingly brutal for its age. 

Murder, My Sweet - another classic noir. Stylish and atmospheric.

The Corpse Vanishes - mad scientist steals bodies of young brides to give his aging wife eternal youth and a smart reporter finds this out. Crazy plot and some truly demented characters and scenes give this movie a creepy and surreal quality. Worth your while if you're into obscure old horror films.

Yes, he is. I was expecting something far more demented from him, but he seems to be the most balanced actor this time.

Daniel Craig was probably the best thing to ever happen to the role as he gave a tired and dated series a shot in the arm by opening up the character to reveal flaws and vulnerability which clearly appeals to a younger audience. For me he's the best Bond ever and the only one that beneath the tux, resembles a real, thinking and feeling human being.
Note for non Brits: Ralph Fiennes' M is effete. Alan Rickman's Sherriff of Nottingham is camp.
Note to Self: the actress who plays Madeleine Swann is NOT Scarlet Johansson but Lea Seydoux
Every good Bond movie needs a good 'baddie' but the jury's still out on Lyutsifer Safin (Rami Malek) who has the speech impediment and unsightly skin condition boxes ticked but just seems about as threatening as the poster boy for the Burns Unit.
Nowhere near as good as Skyfall but probably better than Spectre, No Time to Die is certainly worth seeing but you will need to familiarize yourself with the previous four movies for some of the references to make complete sense. Daniel Craig says this is his last time as Bond but didn't Sean Connery have cause to say Never Say Never Again? If they're looking for a new Bond for the 26th iteration how about Stewie Griffin from Family Guy?. He's young, witty, outrageously camp, sexually ambivalent, an arms and technology expert, handy with his fists, a cross dresser, drives and has an English accent.
Billie Eillish sings the theme song which I didn't particularly care for and sounds as if she's just been woken from sleep to be burped. (not unlike Stewie)

German Angst - anthology horror film by three German (duh!) directors. 

Jörg Buttgereit was the only one I knew before and his "Final Girl" is a fine example of how you make a low budget art-horror that has an engaging, mysterious atmosphere. Not as over the top as Buttgereit's better known works, but very good and easily the best of the bunch. 

Michal Kosakowski's "Make a Wish" has nice ideas and twists, even if the execution isn't that great. There's a couple of really nice old school hand-made gore effects, though. 

Andreas Marschall's "Alraune" is poor man's early David Cronenberg rip-off erotic horror that's just cheap and trashy, and not in a good way.

The Sixth Sense - decent supernatural thriller/ghost story ranging from rather creepy to nauseatingly sentimental. Bruce Willis does some of his better acting and others are good, too. End twist is cool, even though you can see it coming from quite early on.

The King's Man - Indifferent reviews for this prequel. I loved the first movie, the second not so much and I wasn't expecting much from this new one. Set 1901-1918 it shows the beginnings of the Kingsman secret service. This is one of those rare movies that starts of slowly and gets better and better as it progresses and the climax is phenomenal. There is some comedic value too, not too much but just right (Rasputin played by Rhys Ifans has the most fun). The action is top notch as you'd expect if you've watched the first 2 movies and it flies, despite the 2hr 15 min runtime. It's better than the reviews and I'll give it 8/10

From Time to Time (2009 - UK): A beautiful story, but not a cinematic delight. It seems better to read the novel from which the movie was adapted, instead. Some stories just don't impress on screen. 6.5/10

Terminus (2015 - Australia): A fine movie, but I would wish the family drama weren't this predominant. The ending seems to be influenced by Alex Proyas' "Knowing"s. 6.5/10

The Satanic Rites of Dracula - a latter era Hammer film that loses to the early classics in gothicness, but wins in brutality, nudity and groovy music. Well worth viewing.

Cobra - no-nonsense 80s action classic with plenty of cheese, bad attitude and weapon fetishism. Highly recommended of course.

For a Few Dollars More - second film in the "dollar trilogy" and my favourite of the three. Charmingly nihilistic. 

Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! - this oddball cult spaghetti western is probably the weirdest movie of its genre. Chaotic, perverted and ridiculous in the way only Italians made them in the golden age of exploitation cinema.

Lord of Illusions (1995 - US/UK): A cult classic; niche, stylistic and nightmarish horror film, from Clive Barker: The Horror Conjurer. IDK why and how it slipped by me in all these years, given that I'm a humungous Barker fan. His directing is/was very experimental. I thoroughly enjoyed all the movies he directed, including the "cheesy" Nightbreed. 9.5/10

Walked out on the most recent installment of the Spider-Man franchise yesterday afternoon. Uninteresting from the start. And the assembling of past villains was a weak idea that was contrived more than built upon in any semblance of an entertaining way. An awkward movie that only had in its favor the use of Talking Heads' I Zimbra during an early action sequence.
