My vote goes to Andromeda - the first CD album I ever bought from Amazon, followed closely by Andwella's Dream and The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators.

Judging from the underwhelming response to this poll so far, there's not much love here for Psychedelic Rock, so I'll get my coat and close the door on my way out. Tongue

I think The Amboy Dukes Journey is the only one of these I've ever listened to.

I don't think it's because of lack of love for the genre.
You've made the poll only yesterday.

It's possible some users do not know many albums in the poll (myself included).

And I'm sure there are other reasons as well.

That's okay. I've listened to all of these albums at some time or other, although I can only recall the four albums I have on CD by Andromeda, Andwella's Dream and the 13th Floor Elevators. I have a strong feeling there won't be a Psychedelic Rock: Part II poll though. Smile

It seems like you are starting with 'A' so why are the 13th Floor Elevators up there...?   Confused

From that list....probably 'Andromeda',   but Andwella- Love and Poetry is excellent as is Amboy Dukes- Journey and the first Aorta (1969) is not bad. BTW...I saw Aorta in 1969 at a church parking lot in northwest Indiana...they were from Chicago.
Andromeda has an interesting background in that DuCann the guitarist was in The Attack originally..a good hard edged psych rock band, then Five Day Week Straw People...another psych rock thing,  and then Atomic Rooster after Andromeda.

*I enjoy all of these early psych rock bands especially the British ones. I collect them on cd and old vinyl though original vinyl is expensive and hard to find these days.*
Keep the polls going.

It's funny you should say you prefer the British bands, because I actually prefer the American psych bands. Smile

The 13th Floor Elevators are at the top of the poll, as I always list bands with numbers in their name first  before bands with letters, in just the same way as ProgArchives does on the main page. Wink

By the way, I have the Five Day Week Straw People coming up in my second Psych Britannia A-Z list. Thumbs Up

Correction: I just realised PA lists bands with numbers in their name after the letter "Z" on the main page.  Embarrassed

I don’t know any of those bands/albums!

I’ll put forward Abstracción though! Their self-titled debut last year was a psych treat!

Also:

Agusa
Alcàntara
Aquaserge
Arzachel

And probably more if I think about it, but those are who come to mind at the moment.

And everybody else do it, as well.

Okay, but then it gives at least some experiences, and maybe you can use the list in other context. Smile

Not to worry. I only have four CD albums in this poll, so I've had a lot of listening to do. I've listened to all 25 albums now though and I still think Andromeda (1969) is the best album, closely followed by the 13th Floor Elevators debut.   Smile

But you've seen my favourite Psychedelic Rock list, so you must have an idea about what I've been interested in - just so I don't chock you.

Not yet. I need to listen to all of the albums in Part II first of all, then I can include the ratings & links. Smile
