Logan has already open the new poll,

so,

I suggest to open the Nickie's poll next sunday or monday in the prog area.

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

50 reviews or 50 ratings?

(I'd prefer under 50 reviews)

How many are there with more than 50 reviews? Not many, I'd think.

yes, you're right, so Nickie meant to choose songs from albums with less than 50 RATINGS.

Ok, 50 ratings (they are equivalent to 5 reviews, less or more).

Lorenzo, Logan has mentioned perhaps my opening the new poll on Friday, which would give two full weekends to people, I can certainly wait until Sunday or Monday, though.  Let me know what the preference is, and/or if others feel they don't want a slightly overlapping poll.  Thanks!

Dear Nickie, I think you can open your poll on Sunday or Monday, so that everyone has time to read the messages on Logan's new poll and hear the songs well. Polls weren't always open on Fridays but also on Saturdays, Sundays, or Mondays, so I don't think there is any problem with waiting a few days. And your poll can last two weeks.

Nickie,

since you will soon open the new poll in the prog area, I think we should take care to make the rules well understood by forumists not used to Interactive polls, who are usually used to voting immediately and may not understand the mechanism.

I wonder if it is better to ask them from the beginning to candidate a single song for the poll and maybe a second one out of the competition.

Hello Lorenzo:

Are you saying two songs, one in, one out of competition, where we often have had 3 (and some go over that, as well, esp if they're short)?

I will certainly add the rules, I've been one who sometimes falters when they get switched up, so will clearly state them, especially as it's a Prog Poll and not a non-Prog poll, and perhaps different members will notice it than our usual players in this section.

Yes, this is my idea.

It's a way to avoid confusion with forumists new to IPolls ... or do I worry too much?

There were a couple of users that posted here but did not make any efforts to understand what is going on here. No damage done though If you ask me. Embarrassed

Just wanted to make sure that I understood.  I agree, with it's being a prog poll, that to try to keep it to just a couple to listen to rather than a vast array from each participant is a good idea, some prog pieces are longer ones, after all.

Should they decide from the get-go which one they want in and out, or wait for that (by virtue of elimination) until after they get some input from those who like to comment?

Ok, let's try with a couple of song, asking to all the partecipants to decide which song nominate after a week.

I'm with Cristi in the sense that I think there is no problem with confusion, there's a problem with people who don't care and don't read. Changing the rules will not change that.

INTERACTIVE POLLS PART TWO: 21 - 40

Dear friends,

This article was born as a memorandum, a place where you can find the link to all our Interactive poll, and where you can find the three most voted songs (three or more, depending on whether there are equal merits).

I originally conceived it for myself, to remind me of our I.Polls and of the songs I voted for. In this way, I can looking for some of these artists, new to me, and listen to their music in the future. I also took the opportunity to put my nominations (to avoid repeating myself to putting the same ones twice!) and the votes they got. And since someone might be interested in having a list of my nominations, I also put some albums, linked to the artists I nominated, which I recommend to anyone who liked that music.

If anyone else wanted to make a list of his nominations (and relative advices), I'd be happy.

Enjoy!

Lorenzo
