I don't know if I am the only one experiencing this problem but...

I have been using different kinds of adblockers through the years, including AdBlock Plus and Ghostery, because I don't want to be interrupted by ads when I use YouTube. All of a sudden none of them work anymore. I've been reading up on some solutions on the internet, tried one, then another, but I still get ads.

On one site they recommended a different browser that should be made especially to get around this problem, but I was unable to install it. Maybe there's another browser around. If so, can you recommend one?

Ublock with Firefox seems to be the only one that works for me.

Not long ago, I gave a method of eliminating intrusive ads from YouTube music videos: Construct a reply on this forum containing the embedded YouTube video, then instead of posting the reply, preview it. There will still be ads, but they won't be the intrusive type of ad that happens on the YouTube site.

Thanks a lot. Ublock seems to work, but only after I allowed it in private windows.

I find Ublock to be generally more efficient than Adblock Plus and its variants.

Recently I did a fresh re-install of Pale Moon (a distant cousin of Firefox) which works better for a few sites, and I was getting ads galore on YT with Pale Moon's fork of AdBlockPlus - change that for the PM fork of Ublock and it's as sweet as a nut.

Watching a lot of stuff on Youtube via a smart TV we didn't have an ad block option so we decided to just pay the 10 bucks a month for premium. We actually watch it more than Netflex or any of the other services.

I highly recommend taking a look at Brave browser.  It has a built in ad blocker.  I've been using Brave for over a year and it stops 95% of the ads.  From time to time one slips in.  I will use Edge (Chromium) for certain things and the difference is night and day.  I'm often glad to finish using Edge so I can go back to Brave.

I've just stumbled on this Firefox add-on - Enhancer for YouTube - not tested it yet, but I'll leave it here anyway as some of you may like to try it.

Never had issues with Ad blocker on Firefox. I've not bothered using other browsers as FF was always sufficient for my needs.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I find Firefox more user friendly than most other browsers. Chrome I have as a back-up but I find it generally awkward to use, plus of course if you keep it signed into your Google account it tracks you to b*ggery.  Pale Moon I prefer for a few sites as it is very like the more traditional Firefox.
