This is a blunt and honest poll about which album you like the most from this duo. So which album is your favourite from this master duo.

Amnong the most influentual music in the 21st century

I have a close personal connection to the song Old Friends from Bookends, it also have a nice flow with songs including Mr Robinson and America, but Old Friends with its lyrics, is singing to my persona and psyche.

This is so tough, and the only album that’s nit fighting for too space is Wednesday Morning, which isn’t quite so magical.

I’m going to go with my gut. The very first thing that I thought when reading the question was Bookends, and I do very much love that album, so that’ll do for my vote.

But there’s really nothing in it!

I like that Paul Simon in the 60s traveld and lived England to get a feeling, impulse and perspective, so during the production of some of these albums he was pulling influence from both American and European roots.

I bought the box set that has every studio and every live album a few years back.

I prefer the later albums but haven't listened to them enough to have a favorite.

Parsley, Sage ... was the first LP I ever purchased back in ancient times, but Bookends is the one I listened to most.

"Interesting" fact - I once ran a music quiz and did a round where you had to guess the name of the album from its initials (e.g. CTTE). I did BOTW and someone guess it was "Best of The Wombles". LOL

I own “The Very Best of the Wombles”, and it is a most excellent compilation. 🤘🏻

It’s not a bad album, at all. I really like it, actually. A lot. But the other four do all outshine it. I very much doubt that anyone who has voted disliked Wednesday Morning. That’s the problem with polls, as the picture they paint is often misleading. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would wholeheartedly recommend checking out Wednesday Morning. And if anyone ever told they’d never heard S&G and wanted to know where to start, that’s where I’d tell them to start.

I voted for Bridge over Troubled Water, as that album absolutely epitomizes its time period. It's hard to even imagine the early-1970s without that album continuously lingering in the background. I remember going over to many people's houses and looking at their record collections, which ALWAYS included a copy of Bridge over Troubled Water. That album was everywhere! It's one of those albums where it's easy to understand why they broke up after releasing it: where could they go from there, as a duo?

I'd also like to mention that the 6 songs on "side 2" SHOULD have been sequenced as follows: "Baby Driver", "Why Don't You Write Me?", "Bye Bye Love", "The Boxer", "The Only Living Boy in New York", and "Song for the Asking". (Side 1 is perfect!).

Bookends

Great memories associated with each of their albums though, if honest
I've always been so drawn to Tokyo...
