Well that didn't do my nerves much good. I haven't seen Italy play yet but by all accounts it's going to be a tough match, but so far England have one every single major tournament final that I have watched

Deserved win for England over Denmark. I had high hopes but it soon became clear the players didnīt have more in them and that England with their playing style and skills were too much for them. England doesnīt exactly play exciting offensive football, but itīs solid and especially their defensive is impressive. Using two defensive midfielders has really paid off for Southgate. England control the center field and yesterday made it very difficult for the Danes to set up attacks. I hope Italy wins because I think they play both great defensive and offensive football, but the finale will be tough for both sides.

Many of the Danish spectators who were present at Wembley yesterday say they have experienced some not very nice things from English fans. People have spat at them on the way to the stadium and shouted ugly things at them like "f**k off to where you came from". Many were frightened to show their Danish team shirts, out of fear of being assaulted.

I mean, it is fine to cheer for your own team. This is what football fan culture is about. But assault and hate is unacceptable, and I say this to any group of fans, regardless of the country.

Booing the national anthem is also very disrespectful.

Good luck to the English and Italian teams on Sunday, and may the best one win. But I beg everyone to behave in a respectful way.

The lazer attack on Schmeichel was not a nice touch either. Hopefully some of the worst English holigans are punished. Thankfully there are camaras everywhere in London, and you canīt let out a fart without being noticed. The London police are usually not forgiving and will arrest and prosecute holigan offenders.

A lot of English fans are boorish louts. They continually present the worst of the country to the rest of the world. There is no excusing it.

Yes, you're right, especially the f***wit who shone a laser at Casper Schmeicel. Let's hope they find him.

Hi,

If the stadium authorities want to get him they will. That simple. Like ... gee ... no one else saw him point that thing at him, including fans sitting next to him?

I just think that the referee should have stopped it right there, and have than fan arrested. And a warning given that England would lose the game if the fan was not found! THAT WOULD GET IMMEDIATE ATTENTION BY/FROM EVERYONE!!!!! It would have been the right time to catch him with his arm out pointing something or other towards the GK.

All in all, the whole thing, is just another typical English game thing ... the favorites to win because they are allowed to use cheats and take advantage of them, and the referees do not look at anything, or ignore it, so the team can win. You see this in the EPL a lot. The "better" (or "best") teams always get a major advantage over everyone else, and the EPL does not want to change that because it guarantees the livelihood of the 5 to 10 best commercial ventures in the EPL that help bring in major media money!

It's all about the economics, not the game anymore, it feels like! Not to take things away from England and their win, but if you can't win without the cheats, you don't deserve to be there!

We're "allowed to use cheats"? By non-English referees? Examples please. Denmark's free kick was technically illegal as their players encroached on our wall - is that not "cheating"?

Hi,

Very visible in the EPL! But it's not worth discussing. The one picture on ESPN shows Jensen's arm on Sterling's back and even the jersey is pulled with it, which would make it a penalty.

Anyways ... enough of that ...

I'M NAILING MY CHAIR TO THE GROUND AND make sure I'm tied down to watch the game.

Anyone else?

Hi,

The part that is interesting is that Sterling has been a pain to defenses in all the games, and as such, he knew he could continue trying to get in and around folks in the defense until the team got a favorable call. I suppose that if the defenses were a lot stronger in preventing him from getting in and around the box, it would be better, but obviously his movement around the box has been heck on defenses.

I kinda think that he will have a hard time with Italy, but that one penalty will likely be called I'm willing to bet. If it doesn't happen, Italy will have successfully stopped the inner lanes and that means England will likely have a hard time winning. I'm thinking penalties then!

I don't think Italy will allow England to do anywhere near as much in their own half as Germany, Ukraine, and Denmark did.

Predicting... not my thing. I don't boast when my very occasional predictions come true, nor do I feel ashamed otherwise. My point is... it is not fun for me, in virtually anything; from books and movies to sports events and... anything. This is not like a firm principle though. I can and sometimes do predict things, generally with profound accuracy. Yet, the future is better this way: “The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty: not knowing what comes next.” — Ursula K. Le Guin

England... I think they'll not be an easy prey tonight. I'm expecting a very exciting game at the end of which Italy will be the champion.

I think England were overzealous tonight... They were so in the semi-finals too. This is as bad as being complacent in sports. Anyway... ITALIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Cool

England just can't win at penalty shootouts. interestingly all black English players who partook in the shootout failed
