Today, I'm supporting Sweden, Croatia and... Scotland... In the first two matches, I fully support the teams I mentioned; and in the last, it doesn't matter that much for me.

Croatia and Scotland winning would be fun for sure, with all on three points then. I'll back Scotland for sure, traditionally being against England (for no other reason than annoying the many English people/friends I know, Germany/England was always a fun rivalry when I lived in London). I tend to like both Czech and Croatian football (when they're good at least) and have supported them one more than one occasion, so not so sure on that one.  I'm most indifferent on Sweden-Slovakia. If the Slovaks play the more attractive football, I'm happy for them to win.

Hi,

I think that after today's results we have to redo the poll ... so we, at least, stay on par with the results.

Amazing to see our emotional choices, as opposed to the legitimate contenders. I'm not an Italy fan, and voted for Portugal, but Italy has historically been very tough and would end up being a tough team even if they didn't win it all. I think (don't quote me on it) that they have the most trophies from this particular tournament. (Spain might challenge that)

^ The poll question is: 'which team do you support?' not: 'which team do you think will win Euro 2020?'Ermm

^ Like a visit to the dentist's chair.Big smile
I've just watched the whole game again and it wasn't any better the second time but a few points of note:
Billy Gilmour had the unenviable task of keeping his Chelsea team-mate Mason Mount quiet and succeeded for the most part. All the more remarkable that the Scot is just 20 years old. McGinn and McGregor excelled in midfield and nullified England's superior attacking threat from that area. Tierney's return just proved how indispensable he is for both Scotland and Arsenal and his partnership with Robertson might be one of the most (potentially) lethal left wing combinations in world football. Adams and Dykes were willing target men and will be the 'go to nuisances' for  Stoke Scotland for the foreseeable future. Scott McTominay is a player I've never rated but he was very good today. England didn't even reach the foothills they scaled against Croatia. Harry Kane looks ponderous, slow and disinterested. If Harry Maguire is worth $80M then Tyrone Mings could market his own piss as shower gel. Gareth Southgate is a Lidl manager who believed the FA were advertising for the role at Harrods. Bring on the Croatians.

Yeah, that was pretty underwhelming... Croatia and Czech Republic in the other one not much better. I had higher hopes for that group.

I agree that all the 3 games yesterday were of mediocre quality at best... Croatia's lame football here is/was a surprise, given their huge success in the last FIFA World Cup. Sweden's? No! Scandinavian football is like that, normally. (And I like that for no reasonable reason!) Actually, Denmark's tight playing the other day was more of a surprise!

And... Do I have to be "that" guy again? England was not given a very obvious penalty yesterday, through the 80th minute of the game. VAR... VAR... VAR... ARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHH!!!

It certainly was a penalty kick (and I'm Scottish) but wasn't for me 'a clear and obvious error'. That said, an England victory would have been harsh on Scotland.

The Scottish defender did a very stupid move, which should have been seen as a committed penalty. It also should have been immensely easy for VAR to see that it was a penalty position. And, yes; Scotland didn't deserve to lose yesterday.

I agree that one certainly looked a penalty, they seem to have changed the criteria that was used during the season. England didn't deserve anything.

When I had learned that the current game was going to be commenced at 13:00 P.M. and in such hot weather (30°C), I guessed that France would have some real difficulty in playing "their" game; as the stronger team is always the disadvantageous one in unusual conditions. The match is continuing as I guessed. But, the Magyars are playing unordinarily good, also. Let's see how the game will end...

Not sure why you deduce that Hungary at home to France in temperatures > 30 degrees will somehow favour the eastern europeans? LOL France, albeit outside their normal arctic climate, very fortunate to get a draw. Brilliant performance by Hungary

Bad field, unusual conditions etc. affect the "dominator" or technically superior teams more, and in a bad way. Yes, France has a hotter climate, but they shouldn't be used to playing at 13:00 P.M. and 30°C that much.

Yes, the obstacles of an even grass surface, a round ball and a hot sunny day are clearly the great 'levellers' that mud, wind, rain and a passionate home support used to be. You are clearly completely clueless about football.
