Hola Amigos! There's no Escape because it's time for the eighth US Rock poll, which includes The Seventh One by Toto (although the eighth one if you include the "Dune" soundtrack) and the debut solo album by Tom Petty (without the Heartbreakers), and also a country compilation album by Creedence Clearwater Revival, just so I can revive CCR for one more poll.

Of the albums listed above, I'm voting for Journey's Escape album.
That being said, I will admit it's been a LONG time since I've listened to it, because it just SO over-played and there are some weak tracks on "side 2". Still, I consider the release of that album to be when "the 80s" actually started. It really was, in a way I can't quite put into words, a game-changer for popular music. I know it's a cop-out to say this but: you had to be there! The year-and-a-half before that album was really just an extension of the 70s.
