Rush is too far behind, so I threw them the vote.

VdGG over an overripe RTF and the Genesis pop tune. Now, if you included Lunar Sea instead of Chord Change or Passage to Bangkok over Twilight Zone......

^Yeah, a pop tune with a crazy middle instrumental section in 13/8. Gotcha. I get it if you're not a fan of the cabaret-esque theatrical stuff, but that doesn't mean it's "pop" material for that reason either. Were Eagles popular for doing Dickensian musical theater? I think not.

Funny because I think Pilgrims is one of the catchiest, yet dumbest, VDGG songs lol. Still Life is where it ends for me; most of the time it makes me want to put Godbluff on again.

The Eagles tried to make a go of it in Oliver! but sadly that little rascal thief, The Artful Dodger (aka Phil Collins), stole their lines and then stole the show. Now jobless and pennyless, since he also picked their pockets, The Eagles were forced to make another hit song just to make ends meet. After that they never played The West End again. Hard Times indeed. I vote for Pilgrims, by the way. |

^That is packed with references to both Oliver! and Phil Collins origin as a child actor. Well done. I saw a production at The West End in 2009. It was awesome. The stage lifted to reveal a whole other level for the underground hideaway.

Thank you. I had more Bleak (House) than Great Expectations when it came to how that would be taken by most readers, so I am pleased to see you give it context. That sounds like a wonderful performance, and I do love musical theatre (and theatre generally). I've been to London but not had the pleasure to see any West End productions. West End Side Story might be fun if it's never been done, erm.... |

^That would be H.R. Pufnstuf's Jack Wild who later played the Artful Dodger in the 1968 film Oliver!
