Oh absolutely. And the few things that they agree with they claim that Trump proposed them first. Trump Republicans are much better off with Biden but will never admit it. Or take advantage of what's offered to them from this president that stole their election.

Liked Chris Wallace confronting McCarthy about his treasonous little "phone call" with Trump --

10 years ago today..  I guess things like this are when you realize you are getting old. Seems like yesterday.. yet so long since you can honestly say you felt proud to be an American.

read this.. I dare you.. and have a dry eye afterward. I sure as hell did not..

Yeah, I read this.  Coincidentally my father is watching House of Cards and was commenting on how similarly corrupt (to India) American politics seems to be.  I said yeah but then there's things like the mission to capture Osama which show what the US govt is capable of.

yeah... it was a nice reminder of what we want our leaders to be.. and I think generally are if one forgets the last 4 years. They do act in this countries best interest.. you might disagree with what exactly they are.. but never did we doubt that at least THEY thought they were. Even Bush light... I'd have a beer with him.. even as I told him I thought him a good man who was completely over his head to where he let people who DID NOT have this countries best interests at heart start calling the shots.

I have not a doubt in the world he realizes that and will carry that guilt to his grave for all the wasted .. thrown away lives.. all those dead American soldiers for zero goddamned reason..

So let me get this right. Liz Cheney was kicked out of the senate just because she didn't think Biden stole the election? Seriously? I know the republican party has sunk pretty low recently but if this is true and it's really for that reason alone then that's just nuts.

Not exactly as she was basically Chair of the House Republican Conference and lost that position but yeah, the reason is because she called out the Big Lie.

Biden would be delighted with this.  Splitting the GOP reduces his mid term headache and is a big distraction for the party at a time when they've been trying to attack him on the situation at the Southern border.

Time to kick start this now Trumpless thread and talk about Joe Manchin. I feel that he's a bulwark against the outre liberal left of congress, but is he going to far? Is he too conservative for the Democratic Party?

Boring? No.
Normal? Pretty much.
With the exception of the ongoing shared delusion, which unfortunately leads back to #syphiliticpumpkinking

I do believe the obduracy of Manchin and Sinema is going to cost the Dems.  Doesn't look like Biden has learnt much from the Obama years.  They need to use the double majority to move the Overton window back to the center.  Policies that were once the bedrock of the New Deal and which are still mirrored in many European countries, Canada, Aus, NZ are NOT too left/socialist.  Biden keeps talking about the FDR sized mandate he has been given.  He better start acting a bit like FDR now.  Otherwise his success with vaccination will essentially go down like Obama's handling of the bailout measures - efficient management but not transformative.

Pretty much my thoughts, expressed more eloquently than I would have been able to manage.

The voting rights acts in particular are key pieces of legislation that the dems will need to pass with how the red team has treated voting rights in the past 10+ years.

Personally, I think that Joe is too focused on the Infrastructure package and not as much as voters rights. Staying in power should be the Dems number one concern, as getting back in power is the Republicans. It's all that they are concerned with and absolutely nothing else.

There was an interesting article in the Guardian yesterday on GOP's attempts to end USA's democracy.
I guess Biden is sufficiently aware of that, but it'll need time...

Did someone mention Trump? This was Trump back in 1958 when he promised to Build That Wall. Wink

Biden has said many times publicly that American democracy is under threat. Don't worry, he gets it

But apparently Joe Manchin doesn't.
He should be swinging his big threat hammer at the Republicans to get bi-partisanship, not the Dems.
"Work with us and I'll block the filibuster, obstruct or don't participate and I'll nuke it"
I'll bet that would get a few senators talking.

^ Yeah. I would say Manchin has been a disappointment but this isn't surprising in anyway. A typical horrible politican...worried about protecting his own ass than the country itself. His op-ed in whatever paper it was is sickening to read. When one side doesn't want something to exist that the other side does want to exist, there is no room for compromise and espeically if you are on the pro-democracy side, you take every step to ensure it when the people gave you the power to do something about it.

This will also hurt dems going forward, but I imagine he doesn't give a sh*t about that either.

And in other news....oh yeah....dude is way gone. Trump has his pants on backwards. Having worn tailored suits most of my adult life, I can say with certainty I have never seen a pair of men's dress pants without a fly.

...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...
