I feel a little like when Mrs JD comes home some nights and says "Did you get (insert any task you wish) done?" I look at her with the blank stare of a patient who has just undergone electroshock therapy..."Was I supposed to do that today?". I'm too lazy to read back through 19 pages to see what my assignment challenge was. Also...how does an interactive poll differ from any other poll here? Aren't they all interactive by nature?

Which one do you want to put up to the final vote for everyone.

Again, my apologies for not posting the usual full "rules," of the poll. This one does differ from other polls, in that people put up, usually, up to 3 videos that go along with the general theme chosen, although some go for more. Each person decides after some deliberation (and potentially discussion), which 1 of their choices will go up for final vote. Those are the ones you see up in the voting area at the top. You may vote for a "Top Three," up in there, but may wish to let us know who, what, why, contended for those spots as well....or not, depending on your inclination. Many of us don't vote for our own selection, but that is individual and not a requirement. I don't know why the first person who did label these "interactive," chose that term specifically, over perhaps another, but the name stuck and we continue to use it. All polls are interactive, I suppose, once one decides to respond, but it could be a point of contention, if one refuses to respond, is that also a response? Anyway, you are not required to read 19 pages and make any decisions if you choose not to, you can also decide not to elect one of your selections to go up for general vote, although it would be nice if you would let us know if you're not....but even that isn't a requirement. Thank you for joining in and for some good choices, generally falling into the "fool," theme. I will, however open the polls for voting, one way or the other at Noon PDT. |

The poll is open for voting, I added JD's nomination, Crane's single entry and noted that we'd not heard from Icarium.

So......Icarium came in late and wants to nominate his Jethro Tull contribution....Should I add it in or not, it may have lost votes, although we'll never know for sure. Let me know what is best, folks.

I don't know how it can be added into votes quite frankly since most everyone has already voted. It's a song I'm already familiar with so it won't be able to change my vote anyway. There has to be a deadline that is followed as far as submitting your final entry. If not, each of these polls has the danger of never closing. Once the voting has started, it's not really fair to enter another nomination, unfortunately. You gave plenty of warning too. Besides that, we are ready to move onto the next poll. He can hold onto his entry for a poll that it can fit into for later, but is always welcome to join in any poll, of course!

I kinds think along the lines you do, Mike, just wasn't sure if anyone else would see it that way. Will announce on the poll, and I thank you for your input.

Cristi, when do you start your poll? Monday? |

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

what about later today? If not, tomorrow? I just have to think what songs to start with. The theme is later day songs you love from veteran/long career artists.

A wild idea for a future poll: Music from before 1700. That is, up to, and including, the middle Baroque period, but not f.e. Bach, Händel or Vivaldi which is probably too well-known. On the other hand, the music can be as old as you like, so Gregorian chant is welcome... Or maybe it is too difficult a theme?

Hopefully, prog artists will be allowed. |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I was thinking non-prog first, if people have fun with this, we can do a prog round. But if you think it's not a good idea, we can include prog artists as well then.

it's the second day of voting in the last poll, so... I don't know. Thursday or Friday maybe? Once most people voted in the last poll I guess.
