Hi,
I'm kinda scared to post my ideas ... since a lot of the things here, merely have a "title" to make you think of this or that ... and to me, music is not a title ... it's an experience that is intrinsic and indicative of the completeness of the sounds that made the piece ... and the title is usually not even close. I'm a writer ... I understand this really well ... it's super easy to trap someone into thinking it is about this and that ... and it is something else altogether. BTW, I find NOTHING eerie about Klaus Schulze and any of his albums ... a couple of far out or strange moments here and there (Sebastiam in Traum), but all in all it's clearly obvious that he is experimenting with something and it comes out like that ... and the feeling is not idealistic and neither is it related to the "title" and is a part of the flow of the music!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Some of quieter parts of VdGG - Pawn Hearts are quite eerie, but Pawn Hearts is much more than eerie music.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Check out some Igor Wakhevitch. Logos and Docteur Faust are very eerie indeed...but perhaps not in the way you would expect
Kluster’s Klopfzeichen is another one that to me feels very eerie. It’s back-story though is literally perplexing to say the least..and makes the whole experience that more strange. Oranssi Pazuzu’s latest couple of albums may also qualify. The few people I’ve played this to felt the band, and especially the vocals, gave off this eerie menacing vibe. Personally I do get where they’re coming from, but I hear more of a Nordic Navajo metal going down, which at times plays upon these eerie grooves and almost shamanistic black metal vocals. I forgot about the most obvious one actually: Current 93’s Dogs Blood Rising.
That is indeed a highly eerie affair. |
